hey all here is something for you to try if you like golden brown turkey like in all the pictures

I saw this about 6 years ago on a cooking show the night before thanksgiving

when you place your turkey in the roaster and stuff it you take a handful of cooking oil and rub it all over the turkey. then cover it with foil.

it works I have done this since!

Turkey! Turkey, turkey, turkey! I never understand these people who claim their sick of it after Christmas. I could eat it year round.

Can you get roasting bags for turkey now? I know you can for chicken and other meats. I've used them in the past and the meat comes out beautifully.

Me too! Thanksgiving is in October and we have turkey (2 or 3 times at different family events) and then a couple weeks later it's my birthday and that is the meal I ask for (I don't always get it but sometimes I do) and then of course Christmas I get it at least twice, but no one really wants to have it at any other time.

I've used Turkey bags a couple of times; they do come out nicely. Although I just can't help but want to baste the turkey manually. Perhaps I just like looking and smelling it.
