Postby Pretjah » Wed Oct 01, 2008 11:23 am

anynoe else here do a christmas village?

i've done a train village/ christmas vilalge since i was a kid.

it started with a small train and some cardboard houses that my older brother, mother and i would set up. then as a teen ager my mother bought 4 porcelin houses and we had that on display.

my own in my house has turned into quite an elaborate display with about 40 buildings 15 more large accesory (ice hocky rink, gazeboo, etc) plus abou 70 small people, sign, animals etc. plus a christmas time lionel train and a seperate trolley.

i'll post some pictures and videos when i get home.

We do a mini village - the houses and people are all like 1:3 scale to the traditional "Department 56" line. - We have fake snow and lights and such.

I'll have to take pictures of everything and post this year.

Growing up we always had a Christmas village of some sort.

I'd been collecting a small-scale porcelain village from Walmart for about four years. Last year I feel I completed it, a full town and even a lighthouse were present and graced the entire stretch of the top of my parents' massive entertainment center. It's still with them and as Trevor and I have no room for it up here--plus we have four hyper male cats, I'm having them keep it for now :)

I saw your videos a few weeks back - WOW nice! I don't get THAT creative 0 just set everything up on a table with the white sheet and fake snow - no train or anything like that.
