Wow! Can ya hardly believe it! It's Half Christmas for 2011 already! Time's-a-waistin'! And Happy June 2011 Rudy Day!

WGN Radio 720 AM Chicago has two classic Christmas programs from years past for stream or download.

First up is from 1976 (updated from 1969). 'The Christmas Newscast' reports the first Christmas as it might have sounded using modern radio newsgathering techniques. The piece runs 24:18.

Second is 'Letters to Santa with Roy Leonard' that runs 11:10.

Happy CiJ 2011 & July Rudolph Day !!

Postby RadioJonD » Mon Jul 25, 2011 10:17 am

Thank you, Noel!

Happy Rudolph Day & Merry Christmas in July!

Public Radio International ran a feature in 2009 explaining the soundtracks one hears while shopping during the Christmas season. Think those songs are chosen at random? Click and find out!

"Your Holiday Shopping Soundtracks” originally aired on PRI & WNYC’s program ‘The Takeaway’, a morning news program. The piece runs about six minutes and may be streamed or downloaded. Or, you can read about it at the link.
