I've finished God@Ground Zero and have started reading The Heir of Mistmantle (Book 3 of the Mistmantle Chronicles books). I'm really liking reading Junior-aged books; they're quick reads and helps me relate more easily with the kids.

I am currently reading Northern Lights by Nora Roberts. I try to read some young adults books because I teach high school and have an advisory group that discusses summer reading every year. I like to keep up with what they are interested in, like the Twilight series.

I haven't read the Twilight series yet, but my niece is going to loan them to me. She loaned my The Host by Stephanie Meyer and it wasn't too bad. We have many kids starting at Grade 6 reading the Twilight books in our school, although the Librarian has to approve whether you can read them or not.

I've now started reading CS Lewis Space Trilogy. Very interesting. Apparently he modelled the main character after his friend Tolkien.

Oh, I love Lewis's Cosmic trilogy!!! And yes, I see Tolkien in the main character too!!!

For me, I ordered two classic Bob Dylan christian albums on CD. Here are the lyrics, my favorite, that I am reading now:

EVERY GRAIN OF SAND
Bob Dylan

In the time of my confession,
in the hour of my deepest need
When the pool of tears beneath my feet
flood every newborn seed
There's a dyin' voice within me
reaching out somewhere,
Toiling in the danger and in
the morals of despair.

Don't have the inclination to
look back on any mistake,
Like Cain,
I now behold this chain of events
that I must break.
In the fury of the moment
I can see the Master's hand
In every leaf that trembles,
in every grain of sand.

Oh, the flowers of indulgence
and the weeds of yesteryear,
Like criminals,
they have choked the breath
of conscience and good cheer.
The sun beat down upon the steps
of time to light the way
To ease the pain of idleness
and the memory of decay.

I gaze into the doorway of
temptation's angry flame
And every time I pass that way
I always hear my name.
Then onward in my journey
I come to understand
That every hair is numbered
like every grain of sand.

I have gone from rags to riches
in the sorrow of the night
In the violence of a summer's dream,
in the chill of a wintry light,
In the bitter dance of loneliness
fading into space,
In the broken mirror of innocence
on each forgotten face.

I hear the ancient footsteps like
the motion of the sea
Sometimes I turn, there's someone there,
other times it's only me.
I am hanging in the balance
of the reality of man
Like every sparrow falling,
like every grain of sand.

I've finished reading book one in Lewis' Space trilogy and also read the second book in the Hitchhicker's Guide to the Galaxy series, Restaurant at the End of the Universe. Both scifi books, but both very different.

My Mom kept saying "tea" until I realized she wanted me to read her "A Cup of Christmas Tea"! I haven't read it in a couple of years, and tears came to both our eyes as we silently shared family memories of Christmas love!

I'm not reading anything seasonal at the moment. But I do have a copy of Christmas at Fairacre by Miss Read aka Doris Saint. I'm holding off reading it until the Autumn. J.R. Tolkien's Letters from Father Christmas is on my wish list too. :holly1:
