Countdown in Signature

Here's what I did:

I copied the code from the site - this one being from siggiez.com

Code: Select all
<a href="http://siggiez.com/countdownz/ch/index2.cgi"><img src="http://siggiez.com/countdownz/ch/rand_ban.pl" width="468" height="60" border="0"></a>

Then changed it to BBCode, so it looks like this:

Code: Select all
[url=http://siggiez.com/countdowns/ch/index2.cgi][img]http://siggiez.com/countdowns/ch/rand_ban.pl[/img][/url]

And this is what shows up in my signature:

I got it to work and I love it Mrs Claus, I hope you don't mind me using it too.

It is one of the nicest countdowns that I have ever seen - very festive.

Thanks for sharing.

:elf: I made one back in February that I used at CT for a bit, but the countdown banner I made, didn't work well with the skin I was using there so I switched back to graphics.

I made a countdown ticker to O'Malley the cat's birthday once upon a time.

I like that one, Mrs. C. and you know I didn't realize it changed right off, I thought I was seeing things. Thankfully, others are seeing it too. HaHa.

I hope they make another rotating one because I want one too! I just want it a bit different! Maybe closer to Christmas time! :hide:

Thanks Noel. :D
It may stay like that permanently however. :lol:
I seem to have some sort of mental block happening whenever I try something new on the computer. I get just a tad bit frustrated as well. :roll: :roll:

I did a little investigation to find out why the Siggiez Countdown was not working. Siggiez.com has changed their link slightly. Instead of using a "z" in "countdownz"they changed it to an "s" so it is "countdowns". You will need to go into your Profile and make the change in your signature to get the countdown to show up.

Thanks Mrs. C for for looking into the countdown problem and letting us know how to fix it. :smilecc:
I figured I had done something to mess it up. :lol:
Not my fault this time.
Thanks again!!! :flake:

If you have a Siggiez Countdown (http://siggiez.com), you'll need to change the url again. I believe they do this to help with server load from people who have a countdown and then abandon it. They are back to using a "z", so in your code change the "s" in countdowns to a "z" and your countdown should show up again.

Well, that is helpful to know because I just removed mine last year when that happened. :flake:

Thanks Mrs. C!!!! :smilecc:
I was just coming over here to ask if you knew what might be the problem with my countdown, and you already have the solution for us!!!
Thank You so much, I would be forever countdown-less if it wasn't for your great knowledge of all these things. :smilecc:
I am so happy, I love the little countdown. :D

siggez has changed again - click this link to get to the Christmas Countdown page http://ult-tex.net/counts/christmas/index.cgi

When you copy and paste the code it will look like this:
Code: Select all
<a href="http://ult-tex.net/counts/index.cgi">
<img src="http://ult-tex.net/counts/christmas/bans/01.jpg" width="468" height="60" border="0" alt="Christmas countdown banner"></a>

To make it show up in your signature, change it to this:
Code: Select all
[url=http://ult-tex.net/counts/index.cgi]
[img]http://ult-tex.net/counts/christmas/bans/01.jpg[/img][/url]

Hope this helps :D
