Easter Tree?

Postby Merry Sage » Mon Feb 23, 2009 12:51 pm

I know a few people who do a tree themed for Easter. One lady uses a white, tabletop tree decorated with handmade eggs etc.. Someone else uses one of the twig style trees. She uses it for Valentine's Day too.

Anyone here have a tree for more than Christmas?

My friend has a tree for Easter - very similar to a Jesse tree. It's just a bunch of white branches which they hang Easter decorations on. I haven't done one yet. We're never home for Easter and there just isn't the same build up to it as Christmas.

For me, Easter is a more personal holiday in that it requires private time in quiet reflection. This year I've finally been approved for Good Friday off! So I plan on church Friday and Easter Sunrise service -- maybe at my brother's up north IF Mom heals.

We decorate with crosses, bibles and Lily of the Valley. Simple/elegrant/profound like our Lord.

The trees look nice, but my taste for Easter decorations runs more to flowering plants. When the kids were small we used to make coloured eggs and I'd help them make a basket each to decorate and fill with small treats.
