Invitations were sent to family and friends before we split up, so we have decided to have the dinner anyway.

SO:
Invites have gone out (I think 26 from memory + kids)
Ham is ordered
Christmas pudding is made and in the freezer
Colour theme is red, green and gold

I still need to get
Turkey
Napkins
Vegetables and fresh stuff will be bought the day before
Decide on another dessert to have as well as the pudding because a few that come do not like dried fruit, so don't eat pudding... Last year I made Tiramisu.

I'm not doing a full blown party for CIJ, but I am planning on doing a turkey Christmas meal on the 25th.

I'm trying desperately hard to try and get quite a few things accomplished this month, but so far have not done as well as I would have liked.

Our plans have been postponed until next year due to Dad's illness. BUT my sweet DH said he'll get a turkey dinner for each of us from a local restaurant, we'll play Christmas carols and sing! :singing: , and be grateful to have Dad home with us to celebrate if we are so blessed.

To all of you planning a CIJ celebration: I wish you a joyful day!!!!!!!!!!! :smilecc:

 Unfortunately we wont be throwing a CIJ party this year. One of our daughters birthdays is July 30th :D , so we are having her party this Sunday, as well she has a party to attend on Saturday. Last year we threw a party and celebrated her birthday in August. There ended up being 4 other birthday parties and a tournament that weekend. So we thought we should have her party closer to her birthday and before we ago away on the 31st. She comes first of course. But there isn't anything stopping us from watching some Christmas movies this weekend.  If I didn't have so much yet to prepare for the party and going away I would at least be cooking a Turkey. I have really been craving one lately. :dinner: :dinner: :dinner: :dinner: :dinner:
I hope everyone who has a Christmas in July Party has a fantastic time. If you are having turkey and stuffing eat a little extra for me.

I have been to the supermarket today to buy the items for my Christmas meal tomorrow and am gutted that they did not have a turkey, fresh or frozen. How inconsiderate of them - so I've ended up with a large chicken, it's near enough I suppose.

I shall cook a Christmas dinner with mince pies and custard for pudding. My family seem to be looking forward to it so that's good enough for me.
