And there are links to other made for TV Movies which I used to love as a Child and remember watching with my mother in the Days Before Cable with the "Movie of the week" was as big a deal as Christmas.

:holly1: Thanks Jolly. What Christmas fun to look forward to after a long weekend.

Hi ho....hi ho its off to work I go!

I watched that Movie, Heatwave, again today while making dinner. At one Point it has christmas Music playing on the radio when the main characters are trying to leave a sweltering LA. That makes it a perfect Christmas in August Movie!

Merry Monday Christmas! Perky is off on his new job adventure today. I told him to look up the Arabic word for Grandpa because that is what the kids will call him. He was not too Christmas amused.

I love forward to his report tonight. :smilecc:

His first report by text said that school start up was the same in a school for teenagers as a school for age 1-4. If that is true, then that means the kids are younger than we thought. Preschool in Sweden usually means age 4-6. He said he had a good lunch (sometimes provided by the school at no or reduced cost), so that is a Christmas plus, and he will be getting a phone. Nice, but I think that means the teachers call him if they are not coming in. That part is no Christmas fun, but we shall see. Life is just one Christmas adventure after another.

Thanks for the update. Well so far pretty good. And you're right about the phone: employers only pay for them to give you contact duty.Quote of the day -- life is one Christmas adventure after another!

Thanks Noel. I've missed you all also. My parents are in town for a visit till Thursday. Having lots of fun with them and all three kids are home also. It's a full house. After Thursday, we won't see my parents again until Christmas. So we're making the most of the time.

Sounds lovely. I am sure you are looking forward to Christmas with the family.

We are staying home for Christmas but have invited friends from England to visit. They have not said "Yes" yet. I figure I will wait until next month before I start bugging them for an answer. We have come along way on the apartment but need to arrange time off from work.

Perky's new job is going well. It is certainly a cultural adjustment. The staff have made him feel at home. He will be teaching woodworking, sewing, and heraldry. The last in conjunction with the art teacher. The age range is 1-5. His classes will be with the 4-5 year olds. He is still figuring out exactly what that means. Several family members are in early childhood and other friends have offered suggestions and directions. While I envision "woodworking" as making things, one friend said for that age group it means building towers with blocks and elementary physics (ramps, pullies, etc). He will be "in charge" on Fridays as the director takes off since she works 10-12 hrs per day mon-thurs. It is certainly a new Christmas adventure.
