The pumpkin dishes are quite cute. :dinner:
Hubby was pleased and gave me permission to buy them for other occassions. I cannot see having alot, but a set for Christmas would be nice! Just have to find someone willing to ship to Sweden. I saw some nice things on Ebay UK for thanksgiving, it finally dawned on me to look under "harvest". duh........

For a person who plans for Christmas all year round, I am WAY behind. I finally got my photo Christmas cards ordered tonight. I went with Shutterfly since they had a great selection and I had a $10 off coupon. I can't wait to see them. I have my packages ready to mail out the day after Thanksgiving. It's nice to be ahead on something. :hohat:

Only 1 more week until Thanksgiving! That means only 1 more week until I see Santa come down the street at the end of the Macy's parade and it will officially be Christmas for me! :santadance:

The temps dropped below freezing for the first time last night. Brrrr :cold: I'm waiting for it to warm up a little so I can work outside and get my yard ready for Christmas decorating. :merrygift:

My perfect US thanksgiving would be watching the parade while cooking, having dinner in the mid to late afternoon, and watching Miracle on 34th Street that evening. On Friday, the decorating would begin. My mother used to transform the house the day after Thanksgiving. My cousin says her family used to put up the tree after Thanksgiving dinner.

I had to do some grocery shopping this morning. Our church Thanksgiving dinner is this Sunday and I needed to pick up a few things for that. I also got a few stocking stuffers. Dd is into Barbie right now. She ordered a Barbie Christmas book through her book order club at school and this morning I found her a Barbie Perfect Christmas coloring book. It has a watercolor paint set with it and I know she's gonna love it. I need to buy her the new Barbie Perfect Christmas dvd but I might have to put it on the list and pick it up for her after Christmas. :treegifts:

I bought some socks on clearance for our Operation Christmas Child boxes. A 3 pk for girls and a pair of girls toe socks. We didn't have many boxes for the older girls this year and I thought the toe socks would be perfect for a early teen girl. :angelmerry:

We always waited until after Thanksgiving to put up our tree. Growing up we always had a live tree cut straight from the farm so we had to wait or it would dry out. My parents still put up a live Christmas tree and I can't wait for me and dd to go with my Dad to cut it down. :merrytree:

This Christmas kinda has a different feeling for me. While I have enjoyed shopping and am excited about decorating, I am really feeling the true Spirit of Christmas and not the commericial aspect of it. I guess I'm just getting older.....Sigh. :D

This morning I bought all the ingredients for homemade sugar cookies. I thought I'd use dd's hand and trace a template to make some turkey cookies for the kids at Sunday School. Then it'll be time to bake Christmas cookies. I am so looking forward to decorating cookies with my dd. :angelsnow:

I have been getting a ton of emails about the Black Friday sales. I guess I'm really weird but I get way more excited about the After Christmas clearances than I do the Black Friday sales.

After working in a mall for 6 years, I avoided the day after Thanksgiving and the Day after Christmas like the plague. Unless you are buying something really BIG, it is not worth the hassle. ON the flip side, I had co workers with kids who would be in line at Toys R US at 5 am to go shopping before work. :scene:

I've done the day after Thanksgiving sales and I'd much rather do my shopping online. But this year all these stores have announced that they will be opening Thanksgiving night. And what's even worse is all these stores that have NEVER, EVER been open on Thanksgiving will be this year. I feel so bad for all the workers who will miss Thanksgiving with their families. Christmas shopping on Thanksgiving day. I hope that's one trend that never catches on. :razzberry:

I went to dd's school this afternoon to help make Thanksgiving crafts with her class. I just didn't have any Christmas Spirit until I spent time with those kids. They were so excited about Christmas and Santa and the Elves. It really cheered me up. :smilecc:
