Had a great First Advent Swedish Christmas celebration on saturday. I think the famlily enjoyed it. We had as close to a swedish smorgasbord as we could get, a swedish story read to the kids with english summaries, followed by singing of christmas carols. I am unsure if they will continue the tradition, but it was great Christmas fun! We will be returning to Stockholm on wednesday and pray for an uneventful trip home.

Jolly, I hope that becomes a tradition for you and your family. It sounds like a wonderful time to be around the family! Merry Christmas (or is it more traditional to say Happy Christmas)?

Saturday we cut down our Christmas tree. It is such a fun tradition. We usually join my girlfriend's family for the excursion and meet up for lunch at a restaurant on the way home where we pick names for Secret Santa. This year my brother and his wife joined us for the first time. We had a such a fun day that I hope it become a a tradition for them as well. :scene:

Last night we decorated the Christmas tree and put out most of the decorations. I will bring out the remaining pieces today. My Christmas village and train set will go together as well. Pictures will follow. :gbhouse: I love this!!!

While looking through the decorations, I noticed a kit to make and decorate your own ugly Christmas sweater sugar cookies. I can't wait to try them!!

Tonight we go a bit crafty to make some Christmas presents for friends. We made Jolly Rancher infused vodka in mason jars. Yummy! :santa:

I hope everyone is having a good week. Tonight we do the Running of the Bells. It is a 1 mile fun run-walk dressed up in a Christmas outfit with many jingling bells. I am looking forward to it! It should be a fun way to see some decorated houses!

Singing Christmas carols while fixing breakfast. Then church & more movies when home. Make it a great Sunday.

And: remember Pearl Harnor & all who gave their lives to protect us.

Greetings Christmas friends! We have been back since Friday after experiencing a delay. Our plane did not leave San Antonio until the time we should have arrived in Chicago, and landed as our Stockholm flight was leaving. On the plus side we had a great dinner at a Chicago sports bar called Shoeless Joe's. two tv screen per table with either hockey or basketball and still not alot of noise in the Place. Had the best hotel beds of the whole trip. Downside, we had to make an unexpected trip to Houston because Perky lost his passport in the SA Airport (we did not know that at the time, he got it back when we checked in at SA). Had a great visit family. I learned that 1 week visitng family is enough, after 2 weeks my allergies kick in, and after 3 weeks I do not want to come home. Also learned I need a week to recover. Spent today doing laundry and putting out afew things. We changed the curtains in the kitchen and bedroom, put up the Little 2 ft Christmas in July tree with the "emergency" christmas ornaments I got the year Perky was too sick to do any decorating. I knew they would come in handy again. It is enough to befestive. We will be spending Christmas in Norrland and I am so looking forward to that. Another downside, we did not get to Watch as many christmas Movies as I had hoped. :scene: :treeswave:

The cats are funny. MY cat, a big brown Norwegian forest cat who sleeps beside my bed, Zoe by name, licks my eyelids every now and then at night to wake me up to pet her. If I hide my head under the covers, she sticks her head under there to find me. I think they are afraid we will disappear again. Perky's cat, Zelma who is back from her 9 week walkabout seems to have picked up a case of worms and we made an emergency run to the pharmacy for meds for her, so hopefully all will soon be well. She is VERY affectionate even with me. She lets me pick her up and hold her, something she never did before her leave of absence. I am not sure we got the right cat back!

Being back at work is no Christmas fun! tons of email and schedule changes! We will leave for Norrland on December 22 for my first "real" Swedish Christmas with the family. Usually it is just Perky and I. Maybe I will get to make a real snow man! :snowwow:

So wishing I could listen to Christmas music, but work is taking all my concentration right now. Um, an unpleasant question, but for all our cat Christmas friends, if Zelma picked up a case of worms on her walk about, do I need to treat both cats?
