I got an early Christmas present today. My new smart phone. I love it!! Of course the first thing I downloaded was a sparkling Christmas tree wallpaper. :scene:

My mother made me the most beautiful Christmas arrangement of evergreens and poinsettias. I put it in my dining room and am so proud of it. :holly1:

I found a recipe for eggnog french toast. While I'm not a huge fan of eggnog, my Mom is. I thought I'd make it for her for a special Christmas treat. :dinner: :D

I don't know if they sell marzipan in 'tubes' like they do here, but if so you could make marzipan polar bears to go wtih the igloos! Here Marzipan comes in tubes like cookie dough and you can buy it at almost any grocery store.

CandyKane that sounds wonderful! Both my sister and I love eggnog. Also my son and one of my daughters are starting to enjoy it as well. Would you share the recipe with us?
I would love to make some next week when my sister and BIL are here for the Christmas holidays. Also Your Christmas arrangement sounds beautiful, do you have a picture?
Thanks!

Yes, the eggnog French toast recipe sounds wonderful! I would love to see it as well. It would be perfect for Christmas morning, or Christmas Eve morning.

Perfect Christmas Breakfast
Eggnog French Toast

Loaf thick sliced french bread
3 eggs
1 cup eggnog
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg (if not included in the eggnog)

Cut bread slices in half. Combine remaining ingredients. Quickly dip slices (do not soak) in egg mixture and cook on hot buttered or oiled griddle until golden brown on both sides. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve warm with butter and syrup. :dinner:

Germany made the first artificial Christmas trees. They were made of goose feathers and dyed green.

Where Are You Christmas"

Where are you Christmas
Why can't I find you
Why have you gone away
Where is the laughter
You used to bring me
Why can't I hear music play

My world is changing
I'm rearranging
Does that mean Christmas changes too

Where are you Christmas
Do you remember
The one you used to know
I'm not the same one
See what the time's done
Is that why you have let me go

Christmas is here
Everywhere, oh
Christmas is here
If you care, oh

If there is love in your heart and your mind
You will feel like Christmas all the time

I feel you Christmas
I know I've found you
You never fade away
The joy of Christmas
Stays here inside us
Fills each and every heart with love

Where are you Christmas
Fill your heart with love

It's actually totally cloudy day with drizzle so it definitely looks/feels like Christmas in the southwest desert! It made my morning and I sang Christmas carols all the way to work!

Let is Rain, Let it Rain, Let it Rain!!! :D :D :D

The more people I speak with this December, the more are saying that they [like me] are having a simpler Christmas. And know what? They are less stressed, not going into debt, and having time to ponder the true meaning of Christmas! Now that is a GIFT!!!

All I need is snow falling, a candle burning, and some carols playing...I close my eyes and the world just fades away. The best part is, I can enjoy that feeling every day of the year!

Before I left the US, my ever expanding family still refused to draw names. So, for the last few years I 'rebelled' and baked bread, made cheeseballs, etc and gave food gifts. It was a lot more fun and though I still got stuff I didn't need, the 'giving' was not as stressful as if I had spent money I did not have to please others just because it was expected. I miss the Christmas 'hype' that happens in the US, it's very mild in Sweden, but I don't miss the pressure to give a gift to everyone you know!

Snow flurries yesterday and we are exepcting more new snow this weekend. methinks it will be a white Christmas. :snowwow: :snowkiss: :snowhouse: :snowball:
