Well, my Christmas spirit was fading so I went to a cyber cafe a couple of times today to post at CAY. I had a warm hotdog while watching fireworks on tv....not the usual family celebration, but when the house is fixed in a couple of months Christmas will be close!

We went to a Christmas in July sale at our local Christian book store this morning. All Christmas items were 50% - 80% off. We didn't find anything we wanted to buy.
But it was fun to look.

My brother drove up today to help pack up things. It took him 4 hours to get here, he stayed 4 hours and then another 4 hours to drive home. He's a Christmas elf in disguise! We packed up the large bathroom [I have a ton of Philosophy/Bare Escentuals!] and started on bookcases. I have 7 floor-to-ceiling bookcases stuffed with books upon books. My brother is a good encourager to give some away. I also have 8 pairs of very good dress/work shoes that I haven't even worn once for Goodwill! It will take 2 weeks to pack up everything in the house and I'm trying to let go of some things. Well, except Christmas decorations -

Last night I ordered our Christmas in July DVD with Preston Sturges and stumbled on a Christmas in JUly mystery e book. CAY still thinks I am a new commer so I cannot post the link, but you can search for yourself on Amazon. It is Mayhem in Christmas River: A Christmas in July Cozy Mystery (Christmas River Cozy) [Kindle Edition] . This is the second in the series, so not too much to catch up on. The first one is a Christmas theme as well.

Sorry, Christmas in July (1940) stars Dick Powell though it comes up under Preston Sturges. Must keep working on those 5 posts a day. ;-)

Noel, you are a real Christmas trooper! I read in your other post that it might take months to get your house repaired and back to normal. That's a lot of stress. But I've always found that decluttering is good for my soul. And donating your items will make you a Christmas Elf too!
