Spent the day in the dreary gray rain running errands with my beautiful husband. They were work errands and there was something wrong with each thing I bought, plus I forgot my work keys. A useless, wasted day....about as much fun as getting coal on Christmas. The only bright spot was spending it with Perky.

Hej!

This is my first day of fulltime and of course it has been one crisis after another. Wishing I could turn the clock back to Christmas vacation (minus the sickness).

Good morning Christmas friends!

I am having some health issues that need investigating. The soonest I could get a drs appt was next monday. Pray for endurance, quick diagnosis, and quick treatment if necessary. "quick" in swedish medicine is an oxymoron. ;-)

On the plus side, Perky should be getting his work contract this week. We are anxiously waiting to see its duration. It could feel like Christmas!

Aw, you are so sweet. It has been a roller coaster day! Health problems, not good. Work contract, good. And......we got an early/late Christmas present of an apartment! More details later. It is late and we have to go to work tomorrow.

Good morning Christmas friends! Yes, we got an apartment. It could only be God as we were 8th on the list and said we were interested in it without actually seeing it. So, it will be a Christmas surprise when we get the keys and go view it for the first time. Praying it is not from the 60´s or 70´s. The building is from the 60´s, we like that part. Swedish buildings from that time were well made. We had viewed the apartment across the hall and liked it very much, we were #9 on that list, so really did not think we would get it but wanted to keep our name in circulation. Perky will follow up on the paper work today. It is available from 15 of february, but we have to pay double rent until we are finished with our current apartment and cleaned it up. I am thinking about 6 weeks since we will both keep working. We might take off the first and last week to get a jumpstart on the moving and then a week to clean the old one. There is some wall paper that needs replacing, etc. With two probably fulltime permanent work contracts AND a new apartment, I almost feel like I am dreaming.

Still having health issues. I called to see if I was eligible for ER, but sadly not, so I have to wait until Monday. Whatever it is that needs to be done could not have come at a more inconvenient time. Praying for accurate and quick diagnosis and quick treatment.

Great news on the apartment! :smilecc:
If it's a bigger apartment, then that means more room for Christmas decorations. Woot Woot!
Praying you will get better soon.

Hello again Christmas friends!

My work colleague told me that at the North Pole you have to pay double rent when you move for 3 MONTHS! I was shocked, but I have confirmed it with the kommuns homepage. Oh well, God has provided me fulltime work PLUS a substantial raise which will cover the extra rent. We have quite a bit saved up for the US trip which has not happened so far and time to save again after the move. At the moment, we are "rich". Two fulltime jobs and we technically have two apartments. Reminds me of the time the ex and I bought a car. They let me bring the new one home without turning in the old one so for 1 night we were a "3 car family". We lined them up and took a pic!

Looking forward to celebrating Christmas in our new place!

Celebrating your new home - apartment - with you & Perky! :shop: You definitely have received your Christmas miracles with 2 full-time jobs and a new apartment! God is so good! :smilecc:

You are definitely in our prayers for healing. Happy to know you have an appointment Monday and you do not have to wait any longer. My family in England has to wait many months just for a primary appointment in their health system.

The children think you should listen or sing Christmas carols while you move & clean and that will 'make your heart glow".

Yes, it took us 4 years to get to somone who could diagnosis Perky´s rheumatoid arthritis. And I have had similar issues and had to wait 3 months for an appt. Then again, I have called and gotten in the same day. You just never know. But they are VERY strict on the ER and will gladly take your money and then send you home without treatment.
That is no Christmas fun!

That is the opposite of Christmas fun! Sadly with Obamacare the USA is going down that path.

Merry Friday Christmas!

We picked out the wallpaper and paint for the kitchen cupboards last night. We were hoping to sign the contract and get a key, but they were not ready for that yet. One very good thing is that I will be on this contract as well. Hubby´s father died suddenly at age 59 and I have been afraid of having to vacate quickly in case of death. Without any familial support in Sweden, that has been a fear in the back of my mind. This gives a bit of peace of mind in that if something untoward happens, I do not have to make decisions immediately, but with a job and an apartment, I can take my time.

We do indeed have to pay double rent and possibly double utilities, but God has provided! WE did not know this when we started the application process six years ago and would not have been able to do it financially. It is amazing to see God´s provision in our lives at just the right time. Everything happens in HIS TIME.

We might be staying in the new place by Easter, and look forward to celebrating Christmas in July in the new apartment! Woohoo!
