I found a tiny chicken (guinea hen) at the Arabic grocery and have seen blogs about a "Miniature" thanksgiving, so I am thinking to make pumpkin tarts, my tiny chicken, brussel sprouts, and almond potatoes. I don't think there will be any leftovers for hubby. Thinking of cooking the big turkey the weekend before American Thanskgiving, it's too much trouble over Christmas since we will be by ourselves.
You're an organized meal planner Jolly, even for Thanksgiving alone. Bravo Hope you & Perky do share that private beautiful Christmas together!
After my divorce, I spent many holidays solo preferring the peace of my own company to the typical family drama. Also, sometime during my 14 year previous marriage, my family got weird. Lasagna for thanksgiving, no we are not Italian, and tamales for Christmas dinner. In visiting my aunt last Thanksgiving it was determined that the lack of tradition started when my grandparents moved to their pensioner apartment and my grandmother stopped cooking the big dinners. I had not realized that she had been our Christmas rock. Wish I could go back in time and really pay attention and live in the moment.
