We actually saw a little sunlight today. 8-) It did very little to warm up the temperature but it really helped improve my mood. :D

I got a new Lenox catalog in the mail today. It has some Christmas clearance items in it. And it also has a preview of the 2010 Christmas ornaments. Woohoo. :smilecc:

We have about 4 to 6 inches of snow in southern Ohio, as much as I love snow I am upset with it, I want to know where it was a few weeks ago for Christmas.

Oh well, my only problem is the extreme cold, I can take having it cold enough to snow, but single digits is where I draw the line. In fact it is cold enough that the thoughts of spring are very appealing to me right now. :smilecc:

It snowed 36 inches here in Vt last weekend and tonight it is -7 degrees F. Christmas clearance is always good...especially when you can shop from your own living roomwhen it's so cold outside!! :flake:

Went shopping yesterday and used some Christmas gift cards - the kids and I each got cards to Chapters book store. I've bought my first book I'm going to read for my goal to read a book a month for 2010 and I already started reading it. :D

We actually got out of the single digit temps all the way up to 28 degrees today. :D

We went to church this morning. Afterwards we started taking down the Christmas decorations. We're working on plans for a Valentines Day dinner fundraiser for the kids fund. It'll probably be a spaghetti supper or something else that's simple. It should be nice. :jump:

It's shaping up to be a beautiful day with temps above freezing for the first time in over a week. And I'm so glad because after a long Christmas break it's back to business as usual for us. Hubby finally went back to work and dd and I both have doctors appointments and a lot of errands to run. :holly1:

Hello everyone. More rain is the forcast for this week. I like this winter weather. It makes for great overcast pictures of the kids.
This weekend a friend of mine made the best sugar cookies that I have tasted so far. She gave me the recipe and I now this is at the top of my list for possible Christmas cookies for this year. The cookies didn't even have anything on them as far as decorations, toppings, etc. Just the tastiest cookies!

My house needs cleaning, but I'm putting it off til the holiday {next Monday] when I hope to have time to take down Christmas decorations!

We turned the lights on the tree tonight. Always a little sad when the Christmasy decorations are gone.........so we're enjoying every last moment!

All my Christmas decorations get to stay up a least another 2 weeks. No time to take them down, so they just have to stay up and of course that includes the outdoor display too. :D

I took down my Christmas tree and packed away all the decorations on January 2. The outside stuff is all still up until the weather permits us to take it down. :snowwow:

Hubby and I are going through a difficult financial time right now. He finished a contract job the first of December and we still haven't received payment for it. And if we don't get paid it makes some of our payments late. I am never late on my bills so this really stresses me out. And it's bad to say but hearing how other people are struggling too right now really isn't much of a comfort. Things are really looking bright for us this Spring with alot of work lined up already. But first we have to make it through this month. And I'm hopefully watching the mail. :D

I'm thankful I have all my Christmas friends to lean on when times are rough. :smilecc:

I started the Wii Fit Plus yesterday. My husband gave it to me for Christmas. It is so much fun and I had a good work out. It calculates your weight, BMI, calories burned, etc. What is funny is that after it does your calculations it tells you if you are overweight and it makes the little avatar chubby. I knew my result would be overweight so I was not shocked. As a family, we all tried it and had fun.

CandyKane,
The same thing happened to my husband last year. He actually had to go to court because there was a refusal of payment. We had to really cut corners for a few months because it was a big job. I really learned a lot about saving money and shopping smart.

I had to get out of the house to de-stress a little. I stopped by a few stores to look around and I found one store that was still full of Christmas stuff at 70% off. I bought some ornaments and even got a couple boxes of Christmas cards.

Christmas always cheers me up! :smilecc:

In all my gloom today I forgot to post about the really good thing that happened. A few days ago I got a letter saying that I was a winner in a contest and the prize was a kitchenaid stand mixer. And today it was delivered. :snowjump: My old stand mixer quit a while back and hubby just bought me a Sunbeam MixMaster for Christmas. It's still in the box so I'm going to return it and buy an attachment for the Kitchenaid. :smilecc:
