the current christmas favorite. Embrassing my Texas roots. I told hubby that honey glazed ham is very "texas" so we started looking in that direction for recipes. I told him if we move to Texas, he can have a swedish christmas ham. So many recipes, so little time.

A lovely Christmas surprise today! A package arrived from my BFFE in Montana. She lives in a tiny town west of Glacier park and it took 14 days for her package to arrive. Whatever it is, I know she made it by hand and that makes it extra special to me! It's sitting under the tree...............beckoning, but I will wait til Christmas morning as is our tradition. :smilecc:

Here we are at another Friday Christmas! Woohoo! Only one more until Christmas. I am hoping to try my hand at making divinity and maybe fudge next week, just for fun. I saw them making fudge on swedish tv and it did not look so hard. We shall see.........I have not had divinity since i was a child and my dad made the best fudge. Hubby is feeling slightly better and is scheduled for ex-rays over the christmas holidays. Sadly, no word on my interview. I applied for 2 jobs in my "hometown" which is funny to say since it is in the top 10 of the US populations. I applied mostly out of spite, if I get one it will be a bigger Christmas miracle than getting a job in Sweden.

Merry Friday Christmas!

aw...........too christmas cute. If I have a job next year, I hope to do the christmas card exchange. No one in europe sends cards anymore. We usually get 3: 1 from my cousin in Belgium, one from some British friends, and one (already received) from a friend in Holland. That´s it. We sent 8 this year, a record. :scene:

For about a decade the # of Christmas cards we receive has declined. Older relatives passed on; but mostly it is the younger set. They prefer texting or email cards. I do email cards but also send paper cards. To me it is important to take the time and tiny cost of a stamp to show someone you care.

And, several years ago my kids and I made handmade cards from card stock, stickers and glitter. Mrs. C can attest. It doesn't need to be boughten cards so please join in the fun next year! I've loved every card I received from my CAY friends! :smilecc:

Good news bad news day. Our christmas package arrived from my parents in the US today so we will save it for christmas morning, just like Santa! On the downside, while hubby said yesterday he felt better on friday than on monday, after a shopping trip in the blizzard, he is back in bed..........though it is not particularly "cold" (as swedes say, it is "only freezing"), I wonder if something happens to the barometric pressure, etc that affects him. We were only gone for about an hour but had to walk down to the store and back dragging the grocery "drag alongs". Hoping he feels better for Christmas! :snowball: :hide: :snowhouse:

:D Santa was early for you - yay!

Praying for your hubby. Yes, barometic pressure can affect our bodies. Just a couple more weeks before he is scheduled for x-rays, right? PRAYING........... :angelsnow:
