1200 POSTS BY CHRISTMAS 2009

I have several old Christmas decorations that have been given to me by friends and family and some that I've picked up at yard sales and flea markets. One day maybe I can decorate a special tree with all the vintage stuff .


Our church service was very good this morning and all the kids behaved so well. I'm so proud of them. I've already started on their lesson for next week.

We went to a friends birthday cookout yesterday. It was alot of fun. Afterwards we went to Wal-Mart to pick up a few things. I was really surprised that it was the first Saturday of the month and it wasn't crowded at all. I think the higher gas prices are starting to take their toll again.

My internet connection went haywire last night and finally after over an hour on the phone with them this morning, it's working again. Now I won't have to be without this wonderful Christmas website.

We're getting a few sprinkles of rain this morning. Chance of rain all week. That's good because I won't have to water the veggies and flowers.

Thinking about changing careers in this economy,,my current job has taken out of me emotionally and mentally,,,,but I still have Christmas to keep me going with good spirits.

I went down to our local garden center yesterday. They have marked everything half off. I picked up some nice perennials. My mom cleaned out her greenhouse and she gave me some of her pots. Some of them are handmade and I just love the way that they look.

We found out yesterday that our little town will be losing it's 2nd major business this year. That's quite a blow for such a small communtity. I'm afraid that Christmas will be very bleak for alot of families this year.

After the 4th of July (Independence Day) the craft stores usually start putting out the fall items. I love Christmas, but I also love decorating for fall. I love the warm rich colors of the season. I don't have a lot of fall decorations right now, but I'm hoping to expand my collection this season. I think looking at the smilie with the leaves has got me thinking about fall. lol

You just never know where or when Christmas peek its head out of the pre-summer doldrums and lift your heart! I was reviewing an Avon book, there was a small Christmas clearance section! The penguin leg dangler that lights up just lit up my heart with Christmas joy!

Avon has some of the cutest stuff for Christmas. Me and Mom both love to buy from them. Mom has some Christmas decorations that she's had for years and they still look and work like new. It's such good quality.

Yesterday was one of those days when I felt rushed all day long. I hate that feeling. That's why I plan and buy for Christmas all year. So I can relax and enjoy the complete holiday experience.

Went to Cincinnati Childrens Hospital yesterday for an appointment for my youngest and stopped at a Family Dollar along the way to get some Motrin for a headache that came out of no where and what was up front but a dancing Santa, it made the rest of the day better knowing that Santa is still watching us to make sure we are good for goodness sake.

A dancing Santa in June... How Wonderful! Now I really can't wait until the Christmas decorations come back in the stores.

That means we still have 928 posts to go if we want to reach our goal. But I'm not worried cause I know that the closer we get to Christmas the more people will join us to help.

Today, out of the blue, I received a wonderful 'gift' at work! It reminded me how the Spirit of Christmas lasts all year long. They gave me, and 3 others, tickets to the DIamondback games during our workshift!!! We were paid to watch them beat the SF Giants! Being honored by your piers with a gift like this one is joyful, reviving and stress releaving! It's also exhausting when the other 3 are 20-somethings who insist on climbing 4 flights of stairs to get to our box! LOL!

How wonderful Noel! I know that it truly refreshed your Spirit to be thought of in such a special way. I'm glad that you got your much needed break.

My best friend just purchased a new house and she emailed me pictures of it. I sent her an email saying "a Christmas garland is going to look lovely on that stair case!" There is a bay window in the living room and I thought, "That would be the perfect spot for the Christmas tree." I look at empty houses and think about how I can decorate it for Christmas.

I watched a program on the town of North Pole Alaska. The entire town stays decorated for Christmas 365 days a year. Must be a wonderful place to visit.

Stephanie, I do the very same thing! When I watch HGTV and they're picking their home to buy, my #1 criteria is how well it would work for Christmas decorating!

Got home last night after a mini-vacation with the family,,,,everything went really well and the kids loved being away from home.



Noel and Stephanie,,,,I do the same thing, but I include the yard as well,,,,if I see a home for sale my first thought is what can be done with the outside of this house and the yard for Christmas.
