Hello everyone, happy Tuesday!
I had a rough start to the morning. May is a busy week for us with all the AP testing and end of the year fast approaching. It is because of this that I forgot to bake a dessert for the Teacher Appreciation Lunch at my DD school today (and I forgot to bring the $ for the gift). I have always told myself that I will never be the type of mother who forgot to contribute and help out, especially with being a teacher myself, I understand the importance of parent involvement. But look at me now. I feel really bad. I hope this does not reflect badly on my DD. Unfortunately, I cannot get a sub to cover for me in order to buy a dessert to bring this morning so I am left to write an apology letter to the room mothers. Calgon, take me away!
At least I am giving an exam today so it has given me time to relax while drinking my coffee. I think I deserve a little Christmas treat tonight like some Christmas red wine.

Again, have a great Tuesday!

Hi again.
I'm looking for some ideas for my DS birthday party. He will be turing 5 next week and he told us that he wants to have a Beatles birthday party. This is his favorite group because it is my husband's favorite group and my kids have been exposed to The Beatles since they were babies listening to a Beatles lullaby CD. We made invitations with a pic of him holding a guitar next to the Beatles. We are planning on playing The Beatles Rock Band game as an activity and having the Beatles music in the background throughout the party. What I am having trouble with is figuring out what should be in the favor bag. I'm a big fan of themed parties and usually the goodie bags reflect the theme of the party but because he did not pick a cartoon theme that I can usually find online, I am stumped. Any ideas?
For decorations, we will be hanging posters of the Beatles. He received one for Christmas of them standing so we thought we can take a pic of him and blow it up to make it look like he is the 5th Beatle.

You're just human nettescaps! I think we all have forgotten something important and we were so disappointed in ourselves. One way to look at this is your omission gave someone else an opportunity to step up. And if not, the other mothers will know you're just as busy as they are daily. Either way, giving is wonderful........we all strive for 100%.........but 99% is awesome! And I think you deserve some Christmas treat tonight too!

My dd's 3rd birthday is less than 2 months away so it's time to start planning her birthday party. I haven't decided on a theme yet but I'm leaning toward a pink cowgirl party.

I ordered some new bible lesson books and they arrived in the mail yesterday. I was thrilled to see that they have new lessons for Thanksgiving and Christmas! :smilecc:

That's awesome, CandyKane! Children need the Christmas story given to them from different character's points of view/timelines. :smilecc:

nettescrapes - for the Beatles party - anything musical would be good. Not sure at the cost but you could get some blow up guitars and microphones for the loot bags - I know they come in a few different sizes. You could also get the lollipops with the whistle stick.

Wow CandyKane already planning and it's 3 months away - you are very organized. I'm just starting to think about my daughter's 9th party (her birthday's in July but we have a party in June for her school friends).

The temperature is up today but it's still cool in the house, thinking about having a hot chocolate in one of my Christmas mugs. :holly1:

This has been a very stressful week and I'm glad it's over. I'm headed to bed now and hoping for sweet Christmas dreams. :smilecc:

Rain, rain, rain......Will it ever stop??? :| Thanksfully it was only light sprinkles this morning and held off on the heavy downpours until we made it home for church. I'm doing some housecleaning and hopefully get to watch a Christmas movie this evening. :D

My youngest was humming Christmas carols yesterday and my oldest wants to play them on the keyboard! I tried not to get overly excited and scare them off.

Last night my little one found a string of Christmas lights. They were some of the new ones that I bought after Christmas. She had them out and drug them to every outlet in the house seeing how they looked. Precious!! :smilecc:

I can't believe I'm up so early after such a long night. My mom called really late to say she was driving my dad to the hospital. He's having a little difficulty breathing. He got checked out and all they could find was some probs with his sinuses. I guess when he laid down to sleep the sinus pressure was causing the probs. Of course my drama queen sister had to rush right up there and make a much bigger deal than was necessary. My Mom was so upset at the way she acted. Oh well, I guess every family's got a troublemaker.

I'm listening to a little Christmas music this morning to help soothe my nerves. :smilecc:

Hi everyone! I just got back from chaperoning the senior trip to Laguna Beach. It was a nice break form work.
Yesterday my baby boy officially turned 5. I just can't imagine him in kindergarten next year. He was talking to us about what he wants for his birthday party on Saturday and he told us, "you don't have to give me everything on my birthday, you can give some of them to me on Christmas." What a character!
