Got very excited today, in our local paper there was a story about a town next to mine and a group that was planning their annual summer fundraiser that helps with their Christmas Secret Santa program, just seeing Christmas in the paper and the fact that I have been listening to Christmas music at work really has me pumped for Christmas to come back around.

A local group here recently held a fundraiser for their annual toy drive for needy kids this Christmas. It is wonderful to see a little Christmas Spirit in May!

My dad is doing a lot better. He went to his cardiologist and he put a heart monitor on him for a few days just to check everything out. He's doing good, but he does have to have a stress test next week. Praying all goes well with that.

I have been busy, busy, busy. I really need a Christmas break right now! :smilecc:

Had a busy weekend followed by a very busy Monday. Temps hit 95 degrees here today so it's summer time for us. 8-) We could use a little Christmas weather cool down right now. :snowwow:

Waiting to watch the last episode of the t.v. series Lost last night made me feel a little like I was waiting for Christmas. I didn't think it would ever arrive, and then it was over way too quick. :holly1:

My hubby's cousin gave my dd several very nice dresses that her dd had outgrown. One of them is a super cute Christmas jumper. My dd tried to wear it to church yesterday and I told her she couldn't because it would be way too hot to wear it. She said it's not hot mommy, it's pretty!

My dd just imformed me that she wants a Dora the Explorer birthday party. I asked if she was sure and told her Mommy really wants to have a pink cowgirl party. She said we'll have a pink cowgirl party for u birthday Mommy! So I guess I get a pink cowgirl party. Or maybe I could talk her in to just letting me have a Christmas party. :smilecc:

Home from work early today, I think I am the first person that has almost worked themselves out of a job, which is funny when you think about it, anyway from helping the Mrs. with major cleaning before Memorial Day, but I am cleaning to Christmas music, so it is all good. Hope everyone has a nice day. :smilecc:

Had a great long weekend (Victoria Day here in Canada). My youngest received an late birthday present. My father-in-law was cleaning out their closet and found an outfit they have bought her back in March of 2009. She was so thrilled it was like Christmas. If they would have given it to her last year, it would have been too big, so it was a blessing in disguise.

The weather is so hot here that Christmas weather is a faint memory. My brother is coming for Memorial Day and I look forward to us sorting through more of Mom's treasures. My sister will join us for a couple of hours -- plus no work! Now that kind of present feels ChristmasY :smilecc:

My hubby is way behind on a job so I think that he's going to have to work on Memorial Day. :| Guess me and dd can still have our cookout. We're planning to take her camping for the first time this summer. I need to buy a new tent and camping supplies. It should be very interesting. :D

The temps here are hot too! 8-)

I miss Christmas! :rudolph1:

Dd and I both had doctor appt. checkups today. On the way home we stopped by the library. They were having a book sale and I bought a 20 year old copy of the Sears Christmas Wishbook. I couldn't resist. I used to love these books so much. They were huge and had everthing you could ever want all in one book. So much better than the Sears Christmas Wishbooks now. (or the dinky little JCPenney Christmas books)

Candy - I think that book is a collector's item decades forward. Please keep it for your family -- and ENJOY! My siblings & I cherished each page that brought Christmas closer to our family! :scene:

Was in Hobby Lobby today and they have their Autumn decor already out which made the heat that we had today not seem so bad, and it had me thinking that it won't be no time till they have all their Chritmas decor out, can't wait, I have really missed Christmas a lot this year more than any other year and this coming Christmas marks the first one with the oldest in High School and it has hit me that my children are getting older and will be leaving the nest soon. Where has time gone.

Needing a little Christmas - some cooler weather at least

Last month of school is upon us and the busyness has just begun. So much to plan (Fun Fair, applying for grants, preparing for next year's fundraisers) and 2 more field trips (one on either side of the Fun Fair), plus library inventory. And that's just my volunteer work!!! The house really suffers during June, okay all school year, but mostly during June. And I need to plan my youngest daughter's birthday party happening at the end of June. I'm just exhausted typing it all. :sleephat:

For those of you in the U.S...Hope you have enjoyed your Memorial Day! I have had a very nice, and very relaxing 3 day weekend. Hubby had to work today, but he did take the weekend off. We took care of a few projects around the house, and even managed to do some fishing in our farm pond. So hard to believe that tomorrow is the first day of June. We're another month closer to Christmas! :smilecc:
