We had a pop-up thundershower earlier then the sun came blazing back out. So now it's so steamy outside. :|

I'm dreaming of a White Christmas............ :flake: :flake: :flake:

:smilecc: Today, Memorial Day, was bittersweet for my siblings and I. My brother drove down and my sister came far across town for us to sort through some more of our parent's belongings. As usual, my sister wanted what she wanted and disregarded my Mother's personal list. BUT in the end it all was peacefully settled. My brother took the dining room & chairs, and a tablecloth -- sweet memories for him. My sister has several paintings by grandparents and a treasured silver cutlery collection. And........in a way.....having these items leave the home brought peace to me. One of the last items found? A set of tiny porcelain angels for the Christmas tree -- they both agreed I should keep those and so I was blessed too.

Then my brother & I drove the Veteran's cemetary. It was my first time to see the new headstone with both parent's names on it. They tiny flags waving across the graves of America's heros brought tears to my eyes. I walked by the graves without family members present, read their tributes, and thanked God in my heart for their service. A day to remember all those who gave everything for my freedom.

Yes, the angels are a little gift my Mom tucked away and represent her spirit to me. Christmas will be brighter with these spirits on our tree. :snowink:

Received an early Christmas present today, found out from my daughters doctor that testing we did to find out if she is on the autism spectrem came back on the good side, she is not on the spectrem, although they did say she has speech issues and anxiety issues as well but she is not on the autism spectrem, having one child with autism is challenging enough but we were worried about the thought of two children with autism. So prayers here have been answered and now we are (as much as we can  ) patiently waiting for Christmas. :smilecc:

I have a basket of books, catalogs, magazines, and word puzzle books beside my bed. I was cleaning the basket out yesterday when I found a Christmas catalog at the bottom of the basket. I set it aside to look through later. The catalog also had autumn items as well. Autumn is my favorite season and Christmas time is my favorite time of year...I hope that makes sense to you guys, but it makes perfect sense to me.

I cannot believe we are upon the 200 days til Christmas, time has flown this year thats for sure. Was out in my storage shed yesterday and the first thing my wife asked me was when am I going to start planning my Christmas display, I don't know but I may have to do it soon because I have the Christmas bug really bad right now and want to express it somehow. :smilecc:

I'm having a sad day today. :| It's funny cause there's nothing bad going on and I'm still feeling a little down. I think that I've just been so busy lately that even when I'm trying to rest my mind just doesn't want to unwind. Oh well, it's nothing a little bit of Christmas joy can't fix! :smilecc:

Last night after church we went out to eat and the special was turkey and dressing with mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, cranberry sauce, and a roll. :dinner: Yum. I couldn't believe I was getting a Thanksgiving meal in June. And of course that made me miss Christmas even more.

It's been cloudy almost all day and we even got a few sprinkles. The cooler temps really reminded me of Fall. Summer is just starting and already I'm ready for the seasons to change. Maybe Christmas is not that far away after all! :scene:

It's been cool the past few days where I am as well. It's definitely been feeling like fall which brings me thoughts of Christmas. :shop:
