I just got back from Kirklands and Hobby Lobby. Bought a few more Fall decorations. But the whole time I'm walking around Hobby Lobby, I was thinking to myself that I wish they were playing Christmas music. That would have been real nice.

Just home from our long volunteer weekend. We are exhausted mentally, physically and emotionally and in need of rest. Of course, we are wide awake but wanting to sleep. Our Christmas selves are slumbering inside us, but after a couple days of normalcy it will be front and center once again.

Whatever you have seen of the Houston area on local and/or nationwide t.v. it is only a glimpse into the suffering and devastation. You leave with a sense of guilt almost because they so desperately need more help. Yet many have come at their own expense and risked their lives to help Texans because we are all Americans. One thing is certain: Texans are people of faith, strength, independence and determination! Many of them had flood soaked Christmas decorations out on the curb for trash pick up and that brought tears to our eyes,
