Just home from our long volunteer weekend. We are exhausted mentally, physically and emotionally and in need of rest. Of course, we are wide awake but wanting to sleep. Our Christmas selves are slumbering inside us, but after a couple days of normalcy it will be front and center once again.

Right now it looks like we are in the "ever changing path" of Irma. But hopefully if it gets this far inland, it will be a lot less dangerous. I don't want my Christmas decorations to blow away.

I just got back from Kirklands and Hobby Lobby. Bought a few more Fall decorations. But the whole time I'm walking around Hobby Lobby, I was thinking to myself that I wish they were playing Christmas music. That would have been real nice.

wow, I did not know you were that close to Houston. I am proud of my home state and grateful for the way the common every day people have shown their true Christmas hearts. The only ones I know personally affected lost a vacation home in Rockport. Friends and family went down over the weekend to help clean up. They had hoped to retire there, but now not so sure. Losing a vacation home is one thing, losing one's primary home is another..........continued Christmas prayers for the affected areas.

So....what's up with my Christmas Elfs today?

My day is back to work and daily schedule with little sleep the night before. I think I am in a jet lag status due to change of hours, eating and medication patterns the last 6 days. Just ready for cooler temperatures and Autumn so we are well on our way to Christmas!
