Was kinda boring at my house, so I did the one thing I know I could do to get me going, I sat and watched Miracle on 34th Street (b/w verison), that got me going and in the Christmas spirit. :smilecc:

That is my favorite version of 34th Street! It is our family classic Thanksgiving evening -- after naps! -- with popcorn!

I received an Autumn catalog that had a few pages of Christmas items and that brightened my day!

Today, Christmas seems so far away. Although back to school seems so close - only 2 more weeks and then no more sleeping in.

QVC has their montly Countdown to Christmas shows on today. Been watching the Christmas Shoppe. Santa's Toy Shop is on next and I might watch a little of it before I have to get back to the housework. :shop:

I know this is a stupid question but: Is anyone else ready for Christmas?

I just have that feeling in me today, that I am ready for the holiday season to start and to have all the fun that my family has over that span, from Thanksgiving to Christmas and I just can't wait for it. Will be doing some house cleaning today, have people from the phone company coming tomorrow to put in phone lines(goodbye time warner phone service), so have to get ready for that but as long as I do it with Christmas in my heart and mind then things will go smoothly. :smilecc:

I have one more day of work this week (Thursday) and then I am off for 6 days in a row! Byron has those days off as well. We aren't going anywhere though.

We want to check and see if the Christmas store in the neighboring town is open. They may not be open until Labor Day, but I hope I'm wrong and they're open now. It's a cute little shop that's only open part of the year. :gbhouse:

There was a year round Christmas shop in a neighboring town but it closed down a few years ago. :| I used to love to go there and just look for hours. It was always so much fun to see all the shoppers there at different times of the year. :D

I caught an old episode of Jon and Kate yesterday. It was the Valentine's episode where Kate made edible playdoh for the kids. It looked like so much fun. I'm planning on making some for dd and her little friends. If it turns out good I think I'll make a big batch for the kids snack time at church. They could roll it out and use cookie cutters to make different shapes. It would be especially fun with all the great Christmas cookie cutters. :smilecc:

I am scheduled for 3 12hr days with only Sunday off. When fatigue hits Christmas seems farther away. Its one reason I love our Christmas countdown --a daily reminder that it draws closer every day.

And I need a little Christmas in my heart today. :flake:

Noel, I have had those days too, and Christmas has always been the one thing to keep me going, so I know it will do the same for you. :smilecc:

Today I received the Leanin Tree catalog in the mail - thanks! It's great -- they have general cards too! I'm going to pass it around to family & friends before ordering for Christmas! :singing:

Was at Dollarama yesterday and noticed they have their Halloween stuff out, but didn't see anything Christmas related - yet. They usually have some neat little decorations which work well for my kids Christmas party.

Well I am really feeling in the Christmas mood today. I left 3 windows open last night. I closed them up this morning and it is still only about 64 in here. DD7 wants me to turn the furnace on.
I told her we could put on some socks and cuddle up with some blankies.
I am going to dig deep in the cupboards and see if we have any hot chocolate.
It feels more like the end of September not August here. :leafjump:

MM---We've been experiencing the same kind of crazy "Fall" weather. The cool temps are really refreshing but It does make me worry about what the real Fall and Winter weather will be like. :peekleaves2:

I got a Miles Kimball Christmas catalog in the mail today. They have the cutest things. :smilecc:

Good morning to all my Christmas buddies,
Our weather here in Australia is the same - tis almost like summer (it is winter here) in the north of the country and the southern states are being hammered by big winds and lots of cold again.

I am looking forward to Christmas - and the Grand Plan starts this weekend. When the GP starts is when it is all real for me - that getting ready for summer and Christmas...

Not long now.

I've been receiving catalos with autumn and Christmas in them as well.

For those that decorate for autumn, when do you start decorating? I think I'm going to put my Autumn things out this week. The beginning of September is good for me! :cheer:
