My sweet DH has taken over completing my plans for CHRISTMAS IN JULY! next weekend. We're all set with movies, chex mix, popcorn, nuts for movie time and a huge Christmasy meal on Sunday! I'll be watching QVC as much as possible and do some early shopping for toys ........ and my wish list for decorations will grow longer!

Today it is 109F, muggy, and I'm an indoor with the a/c gal today! :smilecc:

I made a huge wish list, but didn't buy anything. Anyway, can't believe we are heading into the second half of July, Christmas will be here before we all know it. :smilecc:

Had a great time at church this morning. We started working on calendars that we'll be selling at our Christmas bazaar. With everyones schedules it's going to be December before we can have our bazaar. I was hoping we could do it in October, but on the bright side it will give us more time to work on our crafts. :smilecc:

We went to a friends wedding yesterday. It was beautiful. They had a nice reception with a great buffet. They had a chocolate fountain which I loved. I'd like to get one for our Christmas dinner at church. :dinner: :D

was wondering if anyone else had any stupid little things you do at christmas...and by stupid i mean...stupid....

here is my example of what i mean....

my church has a yard sale almost every year...and about 9 years ago a kid in church was selling some of his toys on a small table next to his mothers. he had these 2 small star wars ewok figures for 25 cents each...so i gave him a dollar and bought them from him. my wife asked me what i planned to do with them...i told her i was going to hang them on the christmas tree...she told me over her dead body.

so now every year it has become our game i hang them on the tree when she's not around and then when she sees them she takes them down and hides them...until i can find them again and put them on the tree again...

like i said it's somethign stupid but has become a game for me and my wife

Pretjah - that actually sounds like fun!

I'm trying to rack my brain to see if we do anything out of the ordinary at Christmas - this may take a while as it's summer and my brain tends to go on vacation without me.

Yes, Pretjah! My DH puts all kinds of sports items on the tree AFTER it is decorated! I leave on the ornaments but I have to search the tree for the non-ornamental items he hides inside the trunk/branches. It's a hoot!

Pretjah and Noel--It sounds like you guys have a great time with your Christmas tree games. I wish my hubby would do things like that. :smilecc:

My dd got an early Christmas gift last night. My in laws bought her a new "big" girl bicycle complete with training wheels and a barbie crash helmet. She just jumped right on and took off. Her new favorite thing to say is "Go faster Mommy Go faster"!!

We got an American Girl Bitty Baby catalog in the mail. Dd was looking through it and when she'd find something she liked she'd say Pweese Mommy me need this. I told her to write a letter to Santa and ask him to bring it to her for Christmas. She spent 20 minutes working on scribbling her letter out. We may be in trouble cause that American girl stuff is expensive! :D

Good morning CAY'ers,,,and Candy Cane I agree with you about this time of year 100%.

Feeling really good today, have been losing weight since the New Year(this is the longest I

have stuck with it) and I believe I have turned the corner, anyway I am sitting here

preparing my Christmas notebook for this year, doing something a little different, using

my computer skills and creating my notebook on the computer, complete with spreadsheet

and everything, I am in a Christmas mood and loving it.
