Merry Christmas Monday. This week concludes with Midsummer, a very popular holiday here at the North Pole. One more month till Christmas in July! I am wondering if using my parents cable account number in the Hallmark app would work...............hm.........

Had a pretty good day, sat with the wife and watched A Christmas Story and just for kicks watch White Christmas on Netflix, it was nice to just sit and watch two very good Christmas movies. :smilecc:

Did you know that the half mark to Christmas is called Leon Day?
It's June 25th. I never knew this until tonight. How have I been in the dark so long?

hm...interesting, though it doesn't quite have the ring of Christmas in July. There is a Christmas in June episode of Avonlea, used to be on YouTube but was not the last time I checked. At the NOrth Pole, Midsummer, officially June 24, the Baptistm of St John, but celebrated on a Friday-Saturday (June 20/21). It also coincides with the pagan Summer Solstice. I think St. John's day was a way of "christianizing" the event. I am not sure how successful they were. ;-)

We will celebrate with a swedish smörgåsbord on Friday and a salmon dinner on Saturday.

Glad Midsommar! One more holiday closer to Christmas in July!

There is a facebook Group called "Half Christmas". They are not very Active. Since we do Christmas in July and Christmas in August, Leon Day or Half Christmas will probably be celebrated in some small way. Leon Day reminds me of the name Days, so maybe we will just have something sweet with coffee. Since it is around Midsummer, it could be the day we finish off the midsummer dessert..........

I googled Half Christmas and found out it is a "thing" thanks to Comedy Central and a show called Workaholics. From reading the description, I doubt it is anything I want to see, but it does give me some ideas............I used to know someone who on the 25th of every month either played a christmas CD or watched a Christmas movie.

slightly "cleaner" Christmas clips from BBC. At least british humor is "subtle", parental discretion is advised.

I love the BER months!
I don't like the ARY months very much. Cold and boring.
But if the Indianapolis Colts are in the playoffs, that makes January a little more bearable.
I'm ready for the Christmas season!!!
