:sleephat: I dream about Christmas all the time. Last night I had a dream that Christmas had already come and gone. I woke up feeling kinda sad and then I remembered that it's only September. :D

My internet connection has just been giving me fits. I called the isp and they said they would come install a new modem to take care of the problem. But it'll probably be next week until they can do it. Argh! Until then I just have to work with this one. It has a total mind of it's own. And it only wants to work when it wants to. :x

We are getting some good rain showers today. It started sometime last night because it woke me up with a downpour. Right now it's just a steady slow rain. Since there's nothing to do outside I thought I'd go down to the basement to sort through some things. I moved some of my boxes of Christmas stuff around. I need to start sorting through them to see what I have and what I still need. :smilecc:

Tonight, my family remembers the one we lost on September 11,2001. People ask, how did handle the grief? And yes, we miss her & her unborn child 8 years later -- we listened to Christmas music & prayed.

Please remember........those lost, those who went to save them and lost their own lives, and those serving now to protect us. Giving your life--- the very heart of Christmas.

Noe,l My prayers are with you and your family as you remember and grieve your loved ones that were taken that tragic day. My prayers also go out to all the families who remember today. I am thankful also to all the firefighters, police, and rescue personal for being such heroes and risking their lives every day.

Oh Noel--I didn't know that you had lost loved ones on 9/11. I'm glad that your love of Christmas can give you comfort and help you through the difficult times in your life. We all still grieve the loss of so many innocent lives 8 years ago. I observed the moment of silence this morning and I tried to watch some of the memorials on TV, but it just brought back too many awful memories. So I spent most of the day concentrating on my Sunday School kids. I printed them some crafts to make for Grandparents Day. And I also found some great stuff for Halloween(Harvest), Thanksgiving, and Christmas. :singing: :holly1:

CandyKane, I meet so many people who had family, friend or coworkers at one of the sites on 9/11 that it is overwhelming. Thank you for remembering!!!!!

Today, at work, at the precise time the 1st plane hit the Trade Tower 1 we had a minute of silence in remembrance. And then, as those we loved would want us to do, we went forward into life today.

I stopped by Costco on the way home, and loved the Christmas items on display! I bought some great wire-edged ribbons! :flake:

We were going to take the kids from church on a trip to the zoo today but the forecast is for heavy rain and thunderstorms so we had to put it off. :| I was really looking forward to it so maybe we can go sometime soon.

We have our first case of the H1N1 virus here in our little community. It's really scary. I saw on the news where a 6 year old girl in Arkansas had died this week. That is so sad. It just breaks my heart.

Despite everything, I am trying to stay positive and focus on the happy things. Like Christmas! :D

Was given the best pre-Christmas gift of all time this week, the ability to work from home, have been spending all day today getting everything ready in my work area for Monday, now I can be closer to my family and now I can have a way cool Christmas themed office. :smilecc:

Ksrjreed--Congrats on the new work-from-home arrangements. Hope this makes things easier for you and your family.

After church services today we had a special potluck meal in honor of Grandparent's Day. :dinner: Everything was so good, especially the selection of desserts. Yum! Now I can not wait to get started on my Christmas baking. :gbhouse:

Saturday was my 17th wedding anniversary. We took the kids to their grandparents and then we went to a hotel overnight. It was very relaxing and enjoyable.

Of course when I was looking at hotels to book, I was also seeing if they had any Christmas packages, but was unable to find any. Perhaps as the holidays approach there will be more. :D

I just heard of the death of Patrick Swayze. He was such a great and talented actor. I enjoyed all his movies. I especially enjoyed him in Christmas in Wonderland last year on ABC Family. He will be missed. :holly1:

Another rainy, dreary day here. I'm staying in and catching up on some paperwork and housework. I mailed my nephew a birthday card. He's already called me to put in his Christmas list. lol He turns 10 this weekend and he thinks he's too big for Santa. :santa:

According to the way I countdown today is 100 days til Christmas(I don't count Christmas Eve as one day to go, on the 24th of December you only have hours to go), I can't believe it's getting closer and closer, I am really going to have to watch some Christmas movies tonight just to celebrate this mark, I didn't think we would ever get to it. :smilecc:

Ksrjreed--I like the way you countdown to Christmas. It makes it one day closer. :smilecc: Have you got your Christmas tree put up yet?

Today was my first day back at school and I'm exhausted. I love volunteering in the library and today went off so well. Lots to do and figure out with a new circulation program and new scheduling. We've figured out the days until Christmas and have started planning activities up to it. Doing all that makes Christmas seem so much closer!
