After a rough weekend in the hospital, hubby is doing better. He might go home tomorrow. As a warning to all my Christmas friends, if you have never had chicken pox AND have flu symptoms for more than two weeks, AND develop any kind of rash, get the to the dr asap! and be sure to TELL them that you never had chicken pox. It looks different and is far more serious in adults than kids. Perky was in the local med clinic on Monday and only sent home with cough medicine because they did not recognize it for what it was. The hospital dr said if he had gotten the antiviral on Monday,it might not have been so bad.

I am so grateful that my Christmas friends are also praying friends! Keep up the prayers. We hope he comes home tomorrow.

ksrjreed wrote:Hope everyone had a great Saturday, spent mine with our last Saturday baseball game of the year, we still have our annual Challenger League State Tournament that the kids are always excited for.

We are also in the slow process of getting our VBS in order, our theme this year is Willie Robertson's Redneck Rodeo, if you think you have heard the name then you have least heard of Duck Dynasty. We thought putting a big sign in front of our church with the words Redneck Rodeo would gather some attention, also we are going to use some of the Christmas songs in our music, mainly because each year we take up donations and this year we are putting those donations toward shoebox gifts and we are going to have the kids singing the Christmas music while we explain shoebox gifts to all the parents.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday, I will spend the start of mine at church then it is off to the in-laws to kill some weeds, finally it will back at church. Have a great day and keep Christmas in your heart. :smilecc:

We love putting together OCC shoe boxes. Keep up the good work (and Christmas spirit) ksrjreed.

OUCH! Early Christmas gift for the water utility.

Ask the utility not to bill you for sewage on the extra water usage if that applies to you.

First to all of our CAYer's that live in year round hot weather climates, I salute you, we have a heat advisory today where the feel like is going to get up to 102 (during which I am suppose to be coaching a Challenger League Baseball game), and this guy right here does not do hot weather, I am a cold weather person all the way through, give me cold and snow over sun and heat any day of the week. Of course, I just might like the cold a little more because when it starts getting cold I know Christmas isn't to far behind. :smilecc:

I can relate. During this time that we have been contemplating returning to Texas, the heat has not been in the plus category. I find I like Swedish weather, it is a lot like Christmas. :snowwow:

Praise: Hubby is home from the hospital. He is sleeping with two cats guarding him. He will be home from work at least until July 14. I am thinking we will just go across the street for the Hawaiian pork dinner for Christmas in July.

Happy Wednesday CAYer's, it is going to be another hot one today, we were suppose to get rain last night but the storm had other ideas and decided to fizzle out before it could get to us, oh well, you win some and you lose some. Tonight at youth group I will be giving my lesson I had planned to give on Leon Day but didn't have any youth show up (life of a youth director during vacation season), so the kids will get the story of the birth of Jesus with some more modern takes of some of the aspects of his birth, a little Christmas in July now, and later in the month we will be doing a full blown Christmas in July party, so can't wait to get this month started. :smilecc:

Happy Independence Day to my Christmas friends! We are celebrating with palt (Swedish potatoe dumplings-hubby's request) and watching World cup soccer...........have frozen turkey Burgers in the freezer for when hubby feels up to it. He does not have much of an appetite yet. I would imagine we will resume celebrating the holidays in style with Christmas in July.
