We are also in the slow process of getting our VBS in order, our theme this year is Willie Robertson's Redneck Rodeo, if you think you have heard the name then you have least heard of Duck Dynasty. We thought putting a big sign in front of our church with the words Redneck Rodeo would gather some attention, also we are going to use some of the Christmas songs in our music, mainly because each year we take up donations and this year we are putting those donations toward shoebox gifts and we are going to have the kids singing the Christmas music while we explain shoebox gifts to all the parents.
Hope everyone has a great Sunday, I will spend the start of mine at church then it is off to the in-laws to kill some weeds, finally it will back at church. Have a great day and keep Christmas in your heart.

As a warning to all my Christmas friends, if you have never had chicken pox AND have flu symptoms for more than two weeks, AND develop any kind of rash, get the to the dr asap! and be sure to TELL them that you never had chicken pox. It looks different and is far more serious in adults than kids. Perky was in the local med clinic on Monday and only sent home with cough medicine because they did not recognize it for what it was. The hospital dr said if he had gotten the antiviral on Monday,it might not have been so bad.
I am so grateful that my Christmas friends are also praying friends! Keep up the prayers. We hope he comes home tomorrow.

Of course, I just might like the cold a little more because when it starts getting cold I know Christmas isn't to far behind.
ksrjreed wrote:Happy Wednesday CAYer's, it is going to be another hot one today, we were suppose to get rain last night but the storm had other ideas and decided to fizzle out before it could get to us, oh well, you win some and you lose some. Tonight at youth group I will be giving my lesson I had planned to give on Leon Day but didn't have any youth show up (life of a youth director during vacation season), so the kids will get the story of the birth of Jesus with some more modern takes of some of the aspects of his birth, a little Christmas in July now, and later in the month we will be doing a full blown Christmas in July party, so can't wait to get this month started.
