The temps in the morning are low 70's and that makes it feel like Autumn afternoons at home to me. I love Autumn.........next to Christmas/Winter it is my favorite time of year.

The stores are packed with Halloween everything...........too much stuff..........and I cant wait til it goes down and CHRISTMAS goes UP! :peekleaves2:

Was in Wal-Mart today and they were starting to stock the shelves with all their Christmas decor, which is odd, I could remember a time when they had it out by August.

Our Wal-Marts usually have all the Christmas stuff out in August too. I was really disappointed that they didn't have anything out yet. :|

In California the Walmart's had Christmas items on the shelves in August too. Here it is much too hot and they wait til the week after Halloween. So the Christmas waiting game is on big time! :peekleaves2:

Where has all the time gone?!?

I can't believe how busy it's gotten here. I thought with school starting we'd get in a routine and things would get easier. Well I think I liked the chaos of the summer with no routine - at least I could find a little time to squeeze in things I really wanted to do. lol

Oh well, I think I've added to my time problem but getting elected as the School Community Council chair. This Wednesday will be my first meeting as chair and I've spent it preparing the Agenda. It's so hard to try to fit in everything we need to discuss with things people want to discuss within an hour and a half time slot. Perhaps this will better help me with my time management. hahaha - who am I kidding.

The bonus is we have to discuss the Christmas time fundraising! :smilecc:

Another very rainy day here. I had plans today but I decided to just stay in and try and stay dry. Last night it was so hot and humid we had to run the air conditioning and now it's so cool we have to turn up the heat!

I'm starting to feel a little anxious about Christmas. It's funny with the year round shopping and all the planning, it's still 2 1/2 months until Christmas and I'm feeling rushed and nervous about it. I wish I didn't feel like this, but it happens every year. :holly1:

CandyKane - I sometimes wish I didn't get those feelings too, but then I wonder if it would really feel like Christmas if I didn't.

The anxiety here is how late they put out Christmas items with more people searching the dollar stores for the same items. Walmart is crammed with people even now! I don't feel nearly ready........... :peekleaves2:

You're absolutely right Mrs C. For me the anxiety and stress is just a part of the Christmas process. I have friends who never get stressed about it. They don't plan until the final weeks before Christmas and they still manage to pull everything together and have a wonderful celebration with their families. Sometimes I envy them. Then I remember they aren't really enjoying Christmas nearly as much as I am. :smilecc:

Noel--People are getting a little anxious here too. Trying to stretch their Christmas dollars. The Dollar General store has a lot of good Christmas items. And they are much better quality than in years past.

My daughter got an early Christmas gift today. My Mom bought her a Fisher-Price doll house with all the accessories. She's played with it all afternoon. Santa couldn't have done better himself. :santa: :santagifts:

Thanks for the tip CandyKane! We only have 2 Family General stores here. We now have Family Dollar and Dollar Dots stores too. I hope to shop again tomorrow evening.

I just keep reminding myself, and my family, that is Christmas is not about getting stuff.........or even giving the stuff your heart would want to give to those you love.........but about the great gift of Christmas. :flake:

I've resisted turning on the heat lately and I put another blanket on the bed and I wear a sweatshirt and long pants around the house. Today, things have changed. I HAVE to turn on the heat...my sweater is not enough. Fall is REALLY here and winter and Christmas won't be too far behind! :peekleaves2:

After church we went to a friends sons 1st b-day party. He got a lot of nice gifts and the house looked just like Christmas morning after he got through tearing into everything.

We also decided that in addition to the Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes, our Sunday School class will be picking at least one name from the Angel Tree to buy a gift for a needy child. I think it's wonderful that so many people are in the giving Spirit this year. :angelmerry:

Went to the movies and watched the Toy Story 3D double feature, and first off loved the movies in 3D, but I think I was most excited to see the trailer for A Christmas Carol in 3D, I cannot wait til November to go and see this movie.

The temperature is dropping and there has been a calling for snow! I'm so excited. I was watching the news and the weatherman said snow will be here soon. :snowwow:

How is everyone's planning going for Christmas? Anyone start buying gifts/making cards?

This morning feels like late fall or early winter. They were calling for frost and we got a heavy one over night. There is a nip in the air, the children are out playing with winter jackets, mitts and hats. The smell of wood stoves burning is in the air. Christmas is in my thoughts more and more every day! :rockettes:
