MistletoeMisfit--I hope your little one has an extra special birthday. :balloon:

I got a call from a friend inviting me and my daughter to a preschool program tomorrow night. They are having a hot dog cookout and games and crafts. Sounds like a lot of fun.

I got 3 Christmas catalogs in the mail today! Pretty soon those catalogs will be replaced by getting Christmas cards. Woohoo!! :peek:

The frost we had finished off my vegetables so I went out to the garden to do some cleaning up. I gathered up all my tomato cages and instead of packing them away, I put them in the basement with the Christmas decorations. They are cone shaped and if you turn them upside down, they make perfect frames for little Christmas trees.

Thanks CandyKane! :smilecc:
She had a wonderful Birthday. She is our little love girl, she loves everything and everyone. It doesn't take much to make her happy. We did decorate your own cupcake, which the kids and even my DH had fun with.
Saturday is her party,we are dunking for apples, decorating mini pumpkins, put the sticker on the princess crown and pinata.
WOW! I can't believe how many Christmas catalogs you all receive. :smilecc:
I get just one, The Wish Book.

It has poured down rain all day and of course I had a million errands I had to run. We just got back from the preschool program. It really was fun. We ate and did lots of crafts including making paper wreaths for Halloween and Thanksgiving. I can't wait for the next program to see the Christmas crafts. :smilecc:

I stopped by Wal-Mart and they had just started putting out the Christmas stuff. I bet there was 20 people carrying and unpacking boxes. I did find one thing..a Christmas Bingo game.

:peekleaves2: I had a dose of reality last night when Mom fell out of her bed -- and the bedrails were up! She has bruises but no broken bones. It was a reminder to be grateful for WHO is in my life this Christmas..........whether or not we have the gifts/decoratons/food we like!!!

Oh my! Noel, I hope your mum is ok today. She sounds like a lovely lady.

We're starting to see more Christmas ads on the tv now. Not a lot, but it's starting. So's the grumbling about it too from the Scrooges I know. Ah well, time to get my holiday armour on and edumacate them about the Spirit of Christmas eh?

I am sorry to hear about your mom's fall. Thank heavens nothing broken!

DH picked me up some party supplies for DD party. He as my devoted Christmas reporter,(I have worn him down over the years) informed me of many Christmas items out on the shelves in my favourite dollar store. There are tins, ornaments and paper, also they have cleared an aisle for more. Living in the country I only get there every 3 weeks maybe. So I rely heavily on him to keep me up to date on Christmas items.

Stephanie that's wonderful about the eggnog! Enjoy!
I love the NOG!!! :smilecc:

My local store has had eggnog out as well, they also have fruitcakes already out, which made me laugh, my daughter asked me why they have those fruitcakes already out, and I told her thats because they will be just as moist come Christmas, that fruitcakes never go bad.

Noel--I am really sorry to hear about your Moms fall. I sure hope that she's ok now. And I really admire your ability to maintain your wonderful Christmas Spirit. :nav2:

I was grocery shopping with my Mom today and she bought a couple quarts of Halloween eggnog. It's just regular eggnog packaged for Halloween instead of Christmas. While eggnog is still not my favorite drink, I do like it more now than I used to. Guess my tastes are just changing as I get older. :holly1:

My Mom loves fruitcake and every year I order her one from the Swiss Colony. She says they have the best ones. :dinner: :smilecc:

Well DD5 princess castle cake is partially done. I just needed to take a wee break. Thought I would stop by my favourite Christmas place and have some mommy time.

CandyKane if you ever come across some Christmas candy cane eggnog give it a try. It has a different taste, still good, just different. I get it at No Frills grocery here.

You recommended that last year, MM, and it is wonderful! Eggnog is a fave, and signals the arrival of Christmas, but this variety is really the taste of the holidays! :smilecc:

It's funny Noel. I don't care for the taste of candy canes on their own, but if their in candy cane pie, candy cane bark and Christmas candy cane egg nog I really enjoy the taste. The taste is not so strong it's just the right creamy combo. :smilecc: I am really craving some now. :treewiggle:

I finished DD5 pink princess castle cake last night. I need to fill the party bags, bring the mini pumpkins in and finish cleaning and then we will be ready for the party this afternoon. Tomorrow morning I am taking DS out to get a Halloween costume. I can't wait to see what Christmas items are on the shelves now :shop:
