I have shut down the home computer until the end of the heatwave. The kitchen does not need even a microt of extra heat right now. To make matters worse, the floor heating has kicked on and there is no one at the kommun to call because it is Swedish vacation month. AARGH. Hope my Christmas friends are keeping cool!

It's not Christmas, but it is appropriate. We have also shut down the flat screen tv and the cable box because they too generate heat. Have to watch this on the Samsung galaxy later tonight. Hee hee. love disaster movies and the 70's were the best. The file also has a lot of links to other full length movies.

Hello friends! We've been busy, busy, busy. I'll be glad when our back to school shopping can be replaced with Christmas shopping. :shop: I am in a holiday spirit.

We started having problems with our Dvr and we had a new hd system installed. It makes me kinda sad to lose all my Christmas recordings. But I'm excited to start all over. :D

I noticed a lot of Christmas in July sales online this year.
I can't wait for all the stores to be decorated and Christmas music playing.

Another high temperature day but a slight reprieve due to rain. The Christmas DVD box set I ordered while Perky was in the hospital still has not arrived. I am thinking Santa must be watching it at the North Pole.

Merry Friday Christmas! Christmas in July marks the return of "Friday Christmases". And, sadly, today is August 1, the beginning of "hell month" for academic admins. I may not be on here much this month but will try to pop in to wish everyone a Merry Christmas in August (or Crayfish Christmas) as hubby is now saying. To surprise him I ordered 3 Christmas Flags: One is a fleur de lis in pink green, one is a small flag with a boot that says Texas Christmas and one is Santa on Skis that says have a Jolly "Ski-son". I just couldn't resist. The Fleur de lis flag is really cute and though it is sort of Christmas colors, just says welcome, so it can stay up all month which is good because I am not sure I will have time to put it up and take it down as is usual custom for Christmas in August between the 24 and 26......I have a work conference (overnight, ugh) on Aug 26 and we have an SCA event at the end of the week so Crayfish Christmas might extend into September. Yikes!

I will definitely get some sort of photo account so we can post pics of all the Christmas stuff in Texas. So looking forward to it. Too bad we cannot say from Thanksgiving to Christmas as my mother wanted. maybe another year.

OH, and we applied for a first class upgrade! We won't know if we get it until 1-3 days before travel, but it could definitely be a nice early Christmas present!

Just watched Christmas on the Bayou on YouTube while filing at work (shhhhh.......). It was really cute! I love Ed Asner as Papa Noel and the background of the local pageant. I also love learning how Christmas is celebrated differently even within the US. I have a hard time explaining to people that there really is no "American" Christmas as each region and cultural heritage brought their own traditions and each time there is a marriage, it is always a new mix created. The water parade at the end reminds of the River Parade in SA which we hope to see while there and there is a comment that tells exactly where it was filmed. That place is now on my bucket list. I know enough about East TExas to appreciate much of the Cajun background to the film. A new Christmas must. Hope it comes out on DVD and perfect for Crayfish Christmas!
