You all are making me so cheery! Christmas spirit is in the air now! Yesterday here in Cincinnati, OH was only in the LOW 60's! It was SO GREAT!! DH worked outside all day in the yard and his shed, and then put up some new garden lights for me...and then we got out the fall decorations and Halloween lights for outside! So now my dining room is all decorated and I have skull lights in my garden! Yay! This weather is supposed to stay in the 60's and 70's here ALL WEEK and into next week! I am LOVING this!!!

Wonderful weather, but a bit windy to grill on the balcony today. Hubby wants to play miniature golf on Saturday, but I had some cooking projects I wanted to do. However, if we do not go, it will soon be too cold. Woohoo! Bring on the Christmas weather! :snowwow:

My kiddies went back to school yesterday. All three were happy when they returned home and had enjoyed their first day. :smilecc: So I am happy too! Back to school checked off the list of things that happen on the road to Christmas.

Since tropical storm Lee left, the weather has been SO nice! It's been nice and cool in thhe mornings and mild during the day. I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts because I see that the tempartures will be climbing towards 90 at the end of the week.

Next month, we will be going to Hollydays. It's a Christmas bazaar, craft type thing they have every year. You guys know the type of event I'm talking about,I'm sure. I'm excited about it. It will be so nice to see Christmas everywhere. :scene:

I have an interview at the univ in the psychology dept for a 50% admin job on Sept. 19. It is not my dream job, but at this point any job is a good thing. Hoping for an early Christmas present.

I was thinking this morning that it's time to watch It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. Of course I always have to follow that up with A Charlie Brown Christmas. :smilecc:

Tomtemor-Good luck on your job interview. I know it's not the job you're hoping for, but sometimes we just have to make do until something better comes our way. Wishing you an early Christmas present. :angelmerry:

“The famous Christmas song Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer started life as a poem created by an American advertising executive called Robert May. He was requested to produce a poem that could be given away to children by the Santa Claus employed by Department Stores at Christmas! Working as an Advertising Executive Robert May had a natural flair with words and was able to compose the Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer poem which was specifically designed to appeal to children. This marketing ploy was a massive success and approximately 2.5 million Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer poems were given away in the first year of its publication! In 1949 the singer Gene Autry recorded a musical version of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer composed by Johnny Marks.

Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer
had a very shiny nose.
And if you ever saw him,
you would even say it glows.

All of the other reindeer
used to laugh and call him names.
They never let poor Rudolph
join in any reindeer games.

Then one foggy Christmas Eve
Santa came to say:
"Rudolph with your nose so bright,
won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"

Then all the reindeer loved him
as they shouted out with glee,
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer,
you'll go down in history! :rudolph:
