Found some eggnog at the grocery store yesterday, bought 2 litres and it's over half gone already. It would be all gone by now but we're trying to savour it.

The girls have joined the Children's Christmas Choir at church tonight - they will be singing 3 songs. They sound so good.

Mrs. Claus glad you were able to find some eggnog. Enjoy!!! :smilecc:
The last couple of weeks the supply has dried up around here. I imagine any week now I will see it at No Frills though.
I started filling out cards for the Christmas All Year card exchange. I am determined not to be late this year.

Well gale force winds came upon us for about 5 minutes a little while ago. It brought with it flurries. The kids and I ran out on the front deck and stuck our tongues out to catch a few flakes. It was over as fast as it began, but it was fun while it lasted. Always exciting around our house when the first flurries fall.

I have gotten off to a good start on my HGP. Except for the fact that I have not made any treats to freeze yet I have gotten housework done. We painted the family room, cleaned out the closets and the garage, donated gently used items, and fixed up the front and back yards. I am determined to stick with this organizational plan.

My Mom and I went early Christmas shopping today. :shop: On our way home we found a yard sale that had new and used Christmas stuff...decorations, gifts, bags, boxes, etc. I found a beautiful handpainted ornament. :ornasmile:And Mom found a ton of new things for her Christmas village. I also found a huge assortment of Christmas bags and boxes. When we got home my Mom told me she had such a good day today. I'm glad I was there to share it with her. :angelmerry:

More Christmas Trivia....

Does Santa Really Exist?

Yes, Santa Claus really does exist -- and he lives in Rovaniemi, Finland! At Santa's Village, you can visit Santa in his workshop and watch his trusty elves building toys and decorating for the holidays. You can also stop by one of the gift shops and pick up Santa's favorite Finnish candies or a toy from Santa's workshop.

In keeping with Santa's North Pole address, Santa's Village is located in the Finnish Lapland on the Arctic Circle. The Lapland is a region that includes northern Finland, Sweden, and Norway. It is north of the Arctic Circle, an imaginary line on the surface of the earth where the sun does not rise on the winter solstice or set on the summer solstice.

Thanks CandyKane! I don't know where your finding your Christmas trivia but it's great! :smilecc:
DH was driving down our road late last evening and came across a black bear running. I guess he is huge. Running on all fours his back was about as high as the hood of our mini van. We knew there were a couple of bears around, but we hadn't heard either one was quite this large. DH mentioned he looked very healthy and fat, so I suppose he will be going into hibernation soon. Too bad he didn't get a picture.
We are not in bear country here. but the past few years there have been more and more bear sightings. :snowwow:

I had lunch with my brother today and he mentioned that he is finished with all his Christmas shopping. :shop: I'm almost finished. I still have hubby's big gift to buy. The rest of my shopping will be for "extra" gifts and for new Christmas decorations that I find and can't do without.

We're going out to eat with a group of friends tonight. While we're out I want to stop by BigLots and Walgreens to check out their Christmas stuff. :smilecc:

What is the Biggest Selling Christmas Song of all time?

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, "White Christmas" has sold more than 100 million copies around the world. The song was written by Irving Berlin and recorded by Bing Crosby for the 1942 musical Holiday Inn.

The song appeared again in the 1954 film White Christmas, which starred Crosby. According to the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP), there are more than 500 versions of "White Christmas" in dozens of languages, making it the most recorded holiday song.

Released annually since 1942, the song's last chart appearance was in 1998, when it reached number 29 in the United Kingdom.

I am listening to the "White Christmas" CD right now. It's one of my fav's. It's simply a must listen to at Christmas. I have watched the movie every year. A few years back I was given it for a Christmas present. Bing's voice singing those classic songs takes me back to childhood.
I have heard a few versions of White Christmas, but had no idea there were over 500 . :snowwow:
I really enjoy Bing and the Andrews sisters version of "Jingle Bells" as well. JJJ Jingle Bells! :carolbells:

We had a great night out with our friends last night. The food was delicious and we had so much fun visiting. Then we all went shopping. I bought several Christmas things including some special wrapping paper for Santa to wrap all his gifts in. :santa:

At Walgreens I found a ton of clearance Halloween items for next years Fall Festival. The price was irresistable. I love getting a jump start on all the holidays. :smilecc:

I'm doing some serious housecleaning this morning, then this afternoon I'm heading outside to start raking and cleaning up the yard. Hubby said he would help me start putting up the outside decorations this weekend. Woohoo. :santadance:

In what year did the World’s Largest Caroling Service take place?

The world's largest caroling service took place December 20, 2003, as recorded by the Guinness Book of World Records. Organized by the City of Cambridge in Ontario, Canada, 1,175 carolers sang Christmas songs in the Civic Square for 28 minutes.

Went to DS hockey today, then we went shopping at No Frills. They are still not stocking the eggnog yet. Hopefully next weekend it will be on the shelves.
This afternoon I went shopping by myself and bought four more Christmas gifts.
I need to find somewhere to hide the gifts, not much room in the house where the kids wont find them. There is the garage but there are many a mice who like to make it their winter home, so I can't take a chance they will destroy the gifts.
Well off to watch Blizzard with the girls. I think we have seen it no less than eight times now. :smilecc:

Sorry to have been missing this week, but my work laptop erases its passwords [while telecommuting] if I logon to my on computer!! Scrouge at work me thinks - lol!

We are planning on getting the tree out Thursday and start decorating on Friday!! I will be so excited if I finished the tree/house before Thanksgiving! I've lobbied for an earlier decorating start for years and now here is my chance. With my sweet DH unemployed he has time do the chores - one Christmas early gift! I can't afford any new items this year unless they are dollar store bargains, but rejoice that my partner is helping us prepare a home-centered Christmas!

I won't be back online til Tues/Wed -- thinking of you all!

Hugs,
Noel

Hi Noel
Sorry to hear your laptop is causing you grief. Definitely must be some type of computer Scrooge on hand there. Glad to hear you will be able to get your tree up early this year though. :smilecc:
I am also hoping to get our family room Christmas tree out sometime in the next week :treewiggle:

Went out last night with the wife, had a good dinner and then to the movies, went and seen A Christmas Carol(didn't take the kids, wanted to see how scary they made it before I brought them), and I really don't see it bein a kids movie, there were some scenes were parents were taking kids out of the theater because it was to scary, I myself thought it was a good movie that follows the book rather well, anyway, I put up my outside lights the past week and can't wait till tuesday for ABC Family's countdown to the 25 days til Christmas. :smilecc:
