May QotM: Seasonal Activities

Here in the Northern Hemisphere Spring is definitely here! And in the Southern Hemisphere it's Autumn. What type of activities do you normally do at this time of year?

In the Southwestern USA it is 98F today. Other than normal home/work activities, it is time to do weed/pest control. Otherwise scorpions, black widow spiders and weeds overtake the yard. And you definitely don't want the critters in your home -- they can be deadly.

There really is no Spring here..........I miss the rain and flowers.

I just like to try to spend as much time as possible outside before it gets too hot. I spend the most time outside in the spring and fall.

This year, we're seeding the backyard (actually we do it every year as the grass doesn't like to grow in some places - the backyard tends to look patchy) and perhaps this year we might even plant the front garden again. Nothing really likes to grow there. I have thought about putting out a bench then the girls would have some place to sit and chat with their friends (something to put on my Christmas list).

Due to the fierce sun/heat here, I only put out Spring/Summer yard decorations in April-May. They have to be replaced yearly because the wood rots, the metal burnishes and sometimes the glass cracks! So I have 2 new solar powered glass globes and a wind ornament brightly cheering our patio.
