Okay I can't help it - it's been so hot here it's all I can really think about, so I have to ask: What do you do to beat the heat?

:x Stay inside!! Today it was 117F and your skin feels hot in the sun. You can fry an egg on the sidewalk and most of us stay in offices/homes/cars til after dark. I only grocery shop after 9pm!

We do stay inside - although we don't have air conditioning at all now (the small floor model we did have finally gave up). We do go to the Library and the Mall once a week - but I'm thinking of going twice this week.

I'm a little late as I just joined. But, being in Europe, there is no AC here either. I'd rather spend summer in Texas and Winter in Sweden. At least in Texas, we have AC and Swedes now how to build warm buildings, that's the problem in Summer. We live and work in Dutch (or rather Swedish) ovens. I try to use the stove as little as possible, though hubby doesn't like 'cold food', take frequent cold showers, and stay in the bedroom as it is the coolest room in the apartment. Fortunately for us, the heat has backed off this week. We are in the 60's and 70's though the buidlings are still slightly warmer. I'm listening for cicadas (locusts), but nothing yet. Then we know fall is on the way.
