Mincepies are sweets that we make in the u.k at christmas time . As an expat living abroad ,at our local British Consulate every December we have a mincepie morning . I am now the official mincepie maker and usually make around 150 for the consulate , a dozen for the church (the priest"s from the U.K ) and for various christmas mornings which this year brought me up to 290 mincepies !!

Its hard to explain mincepies . They are :dinner: pastry made with butter and the filling is a mix of suet , raisins , sultanas and other hidden fruits as i buy ready mincemeat . I actually make holes in the top of the mincemeat when i open the jar and pour brandy in for an extra special taste . You can make around 30 mincepies from a jar . They are nice served hot with either brandy butter , rum sauce or fresh cream . :dinner:

Tinseltown, I am from the States. I have had rum sauce on bread pudding, but never brandy butter. Sounds yummy.
