Wishing all my Christmas friends a Very Happy New Year! Today we are celebrating with the southern new year´s dinner: pork chops, black beans (no black eyed peas this year at the Noth Pole), brussel sprouts, and corn bread!

Peace and Joy to everyone everyday this year!
Tomorrow is the first day at my new job. It was like an early Christmas present this past year. As always, it is going to take me a while to get used to writing 2014, but it is an exciting new start. Despite the stress from the last few years in finding a new job, this site has been one of the places that has allowed me to relax for a while. I love being able to embrace my love of Christmas 365 days a year with all of you. I am looking forward to this year's celebration as well. :gbhouse:

One more thought for the night. If anyone is ever in Vermont, you definitely owe it to yourself to stop at the Christmas Loft. I have included the link below, it is a wonderful place that allows you to immerse yourself in the a Christmas spirit all year long!

Wishing you the best of luck in your new job! We went into the univ today to take care of a few things. It felt weird being out after being sick for so long. I was glad to get home. Christmas is not over until January 13!

Jolly,
I like your attitude towards Christmas not ending until January 13th! Just this morning on my way to work I was listening to a Christmas podcast...something that I enjoy doing throughout the year.

Jolly: so glad you were able to get outside for a while today! I really think it helps us heal once we are over the worst part of a cold/virus. And I forgot you celebrate Christmas until Jan 13 -- which is perfect now that you are feeling better. And hey I'm still listening to Christmas carols. The first app I downloaded on my new smartphone was I Heart - Christmas stations!! :singing:

Hee hee, it is not my idea. In Swedish tradition, Christmas lasts until St. Knut´s day, January 13. Then the christmas tree is plundered for its edible ornaments and thrown out. Nowadays, most kids just get a bag of candy and it is illegal to throw your tree off your balcony, though we do usually see a couple out on the yard that have been "thrown out". I am ready to start putting a few things away, I need the space. but the trees will stay up until at least the 13th and probably until the following weekend as that is a Monday this year and not a holiday.
