They had a similar parade in Sydney last year and they are going to make it an annual event - I wish they would do something like that here in Canberra.

My sweet DH is on the committee overseeing the local Christmas Parade that began last year. They need the help and we want it to grow into a true family event and become a family tradition in town!

I think there should be more events around the world that encourage families to share time together.

I can't wait, I love watching it on tv. And we have 3 weekends in a row with parades, the 22 is Ottawa and the 29 is the parade of lights in Orleans, which is my favorite because it is at night and the float are all lit up. Lots to look forward to.

We will be cuddled up watching the Toronto Santa Claus parade Sunday.
Next weekend there are three parades within a half an hour or so drive. One Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I think we will attend the one closest on the Saturday evening. We usually go to the one on Sunday but DS is in hockey this year. Long as we are able to attend one of the parades we all should be happy.

this will be my first year attending the parade - does anyone have suggestions as to the best place to go for viewing? i plan on getting there EARLY!

How exciting to be seeing it live! I wish I could give you some advice but I always watch on tv. But have a great time!

I wish we had a parade here but in near 100F temps it would be self defeating to look at fake snow/Santa/reindeer.
