Hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween.
We took the children trick or treating. Afterwards we went to the annual party at the church. They have been having a childrens party every year for 42 years. Then we were invited back to a friends.
Today is the beginning of the Christmas season in our house. According to some smarty pants here (DH), they want to know how it can begin when it's never really ended.

Well I had to take the wall clock down this morning to change the time back. So I figured what's the point in putting it back on the wall when very shortly the Christmas clock will be put there. :happyny: So up went the Christmas clock and now once an hour on the hour part of a different Christmas song will be heard. My DH is going to be so thrilled when he arrives home late this afternoon.

Hello everyone, well just like my wife told me this morning, it's November 1st, game on. I can't believe we are finally in November and getting closer and closer to Christmas. There is so much to do, we will be starting our own fall cleaning this week in preperations for Thanksgiving later in the month and we also have started raiding our present closet to start making our list of what we need and for whom. I love this time of year, it kills me when you are in a store and people are complaining about how crazy this time of year is and they can't stand it, my first thought is then you are doing something wrong during this time of year, I have learned to roll with the punches and just sit back and enjoy, what happens will happen. :smilecc:

We had a great Halloween. We took dd trick-or-treating then we all went to our church's Fall Festival. Hubby and I both worked at game booths and handed out lots and lots of 'treasures'. After church this morning we helped with all the cleanup. So now I am super tired.

After all the Halloween last night, I woke up thinking of Christmas. Hopefully I can get started on some of my outside decorating this week and be ready to turn on the lights on Thanksgiving night. :smilecc:

mistletoe misfit I believe you are talking about Merry Madagascar and it will be airing on November 17th on NBC, I can't wait for it, the Monster v Aliens Halloween special was good my kids liked it and Shrek the Halls is already a staple in my home so I can't wait to see a Madagascar Christmas Special.

Today has been a beautiful Fall day. High temp of 80 degrees with lots of sunshine. 8-) DD and I went to spend some time with my parents. My Mom raked a big pile of leaves for dd to play in. She laughed and had the best time. And I got some great pics for our scrapbook. When we got home we took down all the Halloween decorations and packed them away in the basement. I left some of the Fall decorations in the house until Thanksgiving is over. But I did put out a few Christmas candles around the house. :candle2:

Blizzard is a hit here. At least with the girls and I anyway. They are now watching it for the fourth time since we bought it Saturday. I never tire of watching Christmas movies. :smilecc:

Last night dd found some of my Christmas tissue. She took it in her bedroom and started wrapping her toys. She would take them and give them to me and her daddy. She would get so excited and start giggling as she'd run off to go wrap another toy. She did this until she got so sleepy she couldn't keep her eyes open. :sleephat:

Life is so funny. A few weeks ago we had a discussion in this thread about zhu zhu pets. I believe it was ksrjreed who mentioned he had purchased one for his daughter and at that time I didn't even know what they were. Since then I have heard alot about them. And today I decided I just had to get one for dd for one of her Christmas gifts from Santa. So I searched ebay for the longest time and I bought a set including the zhu zhu pet Num Nums, a pet carrier and blanket, and the adventure ball. Now I can't wait to get it. :smilecc:

DD7 has asked Santa for the " Elf" Christmas movie this year. That is what she really wants from him. Bless her little heart.
It's on sale at Zellers for $4.99. So I think Santa wont be able to refuse that deal. :santagifts:

I got dd's photo Christmas cards in the mail today. They turned out so good. I'm going to have a very hard time deciding who gets which card. :holly1: :scene:

Some Christmas Trivia....

17. Thanksgiving has traditionally been the start of the Christmas season in the U.S. Which U.S. President moved Thanksgiving back a week to extend the holiday shopping season?
-- Franklin Delano Roosevelt, in a move to help out Depression-strained retailers. Since 1859 Thanksgiving had been celebrated on Nov. 30, but in 1939 FDR declared the holiday to be the fourth Thursday in November (Nov. 23 of that yea\). Two years later, FDR signed a bill making the move permanent and official.

Thanks CandyKane for sharing the Thanksgiving/ Christmas Trivia with us. :smilecc:
I am hoping it will look a little like Christmas overnight here. The weather folks are saying we will get rain and then a little snow. Now I am not going to hold my breath or anything because they have promised snow before and not delivered. However if there was a dusting on the ground in the morning the girls and I would be thrilled. :snowwow:
DS likes to see it as well but he knows if there is snow then he has to put on the snow pants, which of course at the ripe old age of 9 he is apparently too old to wear.
