I definitely would take more snow here instead of the -5 degree F temperatures!! Brrrr! I sure could use some Christmas spirit now.

Our church cancelled services today because of the snow. The sun has shined enough today to make the snow perfect for building snowmen. Hubby helped us and we built a huge snowman in the front yard. :snowman1: :snowman1:

I can't believe tomorrow is the first day of February. We're another month closer to Christmas. :smilecc:

HAPPY FEBRUARY!!!

Tomorrow (Feb 2) is the official end of the Christmas season and I'm thinking that I really should focus and take the Christmas tree down. The tree lights still come on every evening too. I think I'll just move slowly and take it down over the next couple of days.

It's also time to move our Candy Cane outdoor lights into the shape of hearts to celebrate Valentine's Day! It's always nice to have lights in the winter. Except our snow has mostly disappeared. But lights still look nice. :scene:

Hello everyone,
Happy Groundhog Day!

We are back to rain this week. At least it helps set the mood for extending the Christmas spirit when I listen to my holiday music.

I started another holiday romance book called Capital Holiday. This was recommended by my sister. She too is a big holiday fan.

I got The Lakeside Collection Spring catalog in the mail today. It has a few leftover Christmas clearance items in it. :smilecc:

I received a Christmas present that I bought for myself with gift certificates yesterday. The Nook from Barnes and Noble. I am so excited!! I have never had an e-reader before. My bookshelf will thank me since it doesn't have any more room for more books! :shop:

We have a forecast of more freezing rain tonight and tomorrow and Friday. I hope it doesn't get too bad tomorrow because I have a doctors appt. in the morning and I hate driving in bad weather. :|

We woke up to freezing rain this morning and it's been steadily increasing all day. I made it to my drs appt. ok. Now I guess I'll be stuck in the house for awhile. Christmas seems very far away right now. :holly1:

One of my hubbies business associates is taking us out for a free steak dinner tonight. I like to think of it as a really, really, really, really early Christmas gift. :smilecc:

Hello, wishing everyone well.
Noel, I hope your days are bright.

We have more rain today. I am very thankful. So far the amount of rain we had since January exceeded the amount we had all of 2009. Unfortunately, I have so many errands to run today since my sister's bridal shower is tomorrow. I do not like driving in the rain.

I am going to use my Christmas gift gift card to buy a new pair of shoes this weekend. Yay! Santa came again!

Thanks CandyKane!

Christmas seems so very far away and the sadness of Mom's decline increases the need for it in my heart.

Valentine's Day is fast approaching. Our babysitter called and told us not to worry about her (she's 21) but to make our plans first and she'll work her Valentine's around us. How sweet. We're hoping to go see Avatar - a kind of belated Christmas present for the both of us. :muffs:
