In spite of the nasty weather we made it to church this morning and had a wonderful service. It's time to start planning for Easter and for the summer holidays. We're also going to get started on a Christmas project. The kids are 'making' and decorating a picture quilt to give to our pastor and his wife. :holly1:

Happy Monday Christmas All Years friends!

I just read the new Family Circle mag and found a cute new way to decorate Easter eggs using glitter. I am going to try it this weekend.

Christmas does seem so very far from now with all this warm weather. The good thing is, we had a good turn out at our garage sale because of the nice weather. We were able to go out to dinner on Sunday then end the evening with frozen yogurt.

What a difference a day makes in our weather. Yesterday cold and snow, today sunshine and 60 degree temps. If it hadn't been so breezy it would have been the perfect Spring weather.

Please, please, Santa. No more snow til Christmas. :flake: :snowman1:

I have been on the go all day long and I still feel like I haven't gotten anything done. For me the time is flying by so quickly, it really doesn't feel like Christmas is so far away. :smilecc:

I made a trip to Wal-Mart today to pick up some supplies for church. I found the cutest Noah's Ark Easter Eggs. They are eggs shaped like animals and filled with different candies. The kids will love them. We have a big age difference in some of our kids, so I think we should have a separate hunt for the little kids to give them a chance to find eggs and win prizes. I love Easter.....almost as much as I love Christmas!! :scene:

I too love the Easter holiday. My kids and nieces are spoiled at my side of the family because they all get small baskets from their grandparents and uncles and aunts. At my in-laws celebration we play relay races, bingo, and hunt for the Golden Egg. They make tons (too many to count) of confettii eggs.

What makes this year more special is that my kids are learning the meaning of Easter. This is the first year they attend Sunday school (our old parish did not have one in English). We also attend a monthly family faith group so the kids are learning a lot.

In honor of my CAY friends, I am going to paint (we usually paint our eggs) one using Christmas colors.

I think painting an Easter Egg with the colors of Christmas is a fine idea. A wonderful way to honor the birth and death of Christ! :holly1:

I stopped by the library yesterday and picked out some children's books for dd. We started reading them last night and was surprised to find that one of them was about a little stick man who saves Santa Claus. I love finding Christmas in unexpected places. :smilecc:

I'm heading out to spend the day with my hubby and dd. Everyday that I am blessed with my wonderful family is like a Christmas gift! :holly1:

We went with my hubby to run errands yesterday and then we did some shopping. I stopped by BigLots to pick up some Easter stuff for the kids at church. I looked thru one of their sale papers and it had zhuzhu pets and accessories. So hard to believe there was such a frenzy for them at Christmas and 3 months later they have them at BigLots. :D

Thanks for the tip CandyKane. We did not get my daughter a ZhuZhu pet for Christmas because she told us at the last minute and we didn't think she knew what is was since she only heard her friends talking about it. Now she is always asking for one. I think I might take a trip to Big Lots this weekend to find one from the Easter Bunny.

On the way home from work tonight I stopped by the grocery store to pick up more candy for the Easter baskets. I give my coworkers little ones made from glitter cups from Target; and of course family & friends! The Spirit of Christmas lives again at Easter! :smilecc:

The temps are only in the low 40's this morning. A good reason to wear a pair of my new Bath and Body Works Christmas socks. :smilecc:

My Sunday School kids were so wild today. They must have all been hyped up on Easter candy. I wanted to come home and take a nap but I have too much to do. I have a very busy week ahead getting ready for Easter! Can't believe it's almost Easter when it feels like it was just Christmas. :gbhouse:
