What is your weather like

Postby Jodie » Sat Mar 29, 2008 6:18 pm

It is Autumn here in Australia at the moment and the mornings and evenings are quite cool but the days are warm enough not to need a coat.

Our seasons:
1 December to 28/29 February = Summer
1 March to 31 May = Autumn (fall)
1 June to 31 August = Winter
1 September to 30 November = Spring

My favourite season is probably Autumn, I just love this time of year with all the leaves changing colour and falling from the trees.

I do prefer winter to summer, I have never been that keen on how hot it gets in summer. It is not unusual for it to reach the high 30s to early 40s Celcius here in summer.

Winter varies from minus 10 to 10 degrees celcius

But spring time is lovely (like autumn) temps - from about 4 to 22 degrees celcius.

Warm/Hot/Hotter/Firestarter!!!

I live in the SW desert of the USA, Temps, in winter are "cold"if in the 70's and freezing in the rare 60 days! Our average temp is 110F yearly.

I was born and raised in the Midwest with 4 seasons, mild temps, and snowy Christmas days! I miss it and pray I can retire at home,

Our weather is all strange again - it is overcast, windy and not cold yet.

It is cold of a night and morning but days are almost balmy.

It's starting to feel like spring out. Yesterday we went up to 9C and boy was it windy. We've had so much snow piled up and it was raining a lot over the last day or two that roadways were flooded. And with the wind it knocked over light standards on our major highway (401). It took hubby a while to get home from work with all the detouring.

Today - it's sunny and going up to 6C - not as warm but much drier and less windy.

England is a bit of a strange country, weather-wise. Well, more than weather-wise, but we won't go there today.

Despite being on the same latitude as Newfoundland, winter here is very mild. Temps seldom go much below freezing, even in the north. You have to go to the extreme north of Scotland to get really North American feeling winter. Having said that, its scary how quickly you acclimatise to the milder temps and can easily find them cold. :D

Summer, at least in Central England where we are now, is nothing write home about. If its going to be wet and miserable, this is the part of the country thats going to get it. 2007 was the wettest in 60 years with widespread flooding. However, we're moving to the southwest coast ie: Dorset, in the next few months! Thank goodness! I despise living inland. Its grimy and grey and the people are miserable. Nothing beats coastal living and it wasn't until we moved here that I didn't live near the ocean. Can't wait!

And thats quite enough from me. Spring is struggling in. Wet and mildish, temps around 10C.

We are still suffering from drought but the powers that be would have you believe that we are recovering - tell the farmers that!

It is so windy at the moment, unusual for this time of year (the windy season is usually in September/October). The temps are dropping quite rapidly this year too - I think we got down to about 2C overnight and today is only expected to peak 16C. Thredbo had snow all the way to the village last night (that is only about an hour and a half away from me). I think it is going to be a cold winter - this is only autumn.

here in the Netherlands you hardly have weather extremes..the summers are not so hot (due to the fact we are close to the beach and there´s always wind ) and the winters are very mild.. hardly a snowflake over here.. when I went to my parents last week-end we had lots of snow..
at the moment I´m waiting for spring... we have grey days with rain and wind at the moment.. but I´m longing to go outside and do some gardening..

It was freezing here last night - winter is definitely on the way. I think it got down to 3C and it does not feel much warmer today... :hide:

Winter is having one last kick at the can. Or so the BBC weather service is saying. Its not cold, imo, just grey, windy and damp. Nothing new there.

Temps around 9C, which is good for early April. I'm going for a walk later.

It is chilly of a night, getting down to 4 or 5C. The days are not so cold though.

Mornings are brisk and so are evenings.

Bring on winter, I want hot chocolate :flake:

Not much has changed, cold nights and warmish days. The leaves on the trees are just starting to change colour. It won't be long and we will start to see them all falling to the ground in all their autumn glory.

I love taking the pooch to the park in autumn, he has such fun running through the piles of fallen, crisp leaves,

Its still swinging between sunny and chilly/wet and chilly. Temps aren't quite making it into double digits (celsius). :cold:

The weather, here in the northeast has been quite nice the last few days. Temps have been mild and while I personally prefer the cooler temps :cold: , I know this Spring-like weather has people quite happy, here.

We had a very little snow this morning - nothing stayed on the ground, just some in the air. Right now it's 2C but we're heading into double digits later in the week.

It was cold and raining last weekend (I spent most of it watching movies, when I was not cleaning house). To miserable to go out anywhere.

Today is nice (Monday 14th) but it was cold this morning and it is cooling off as I type this (4.20pm).

I think we'll just be patient and wait for May! It looks like another week of sunny mornings, wet, blustery afternoons and chilly nights.

Cold nights and mornings and warmish days - not so warm that you can get away without a light jumper though.

Our winter does not start until June 1, but already it is pretty cool of a night.

Its overcast and absolutely howling a gale today. And to think this time last year we were enjoying an unseasonably warm April. Mind you that was quickly followed by the wettest Summer in 60 years.
