It was just OH and I home tonight, so we decide to have take away (you guys call it take out, I think). He wanted Kentucky Fried Chicken - that is way to greasy for me, so I just had a bit of potato and gravy and some corn on the cob, with a cup of tea.

We are having roast pork tomorrow night - I look forward to Sunday nights because we have a roast and OH cooks it. He discovered he could cook a roast back in 2000 and has been doing them ever since.

It all started when I had to have a tumour removed and was in hospital. I had done the grocery shopping before I went for surgery (it was only day surgery, so I was home again that night - Friday). On the Sunday I was going to cook the boys a roast dinner but I fell asleep (still sore from surgery) on the lounge. So OH decided he would give it a go - he called his mother and she told him how.

The children awoke me today with their plans for dinner: southern friend Chicken! And so it was........with mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, salad, peas, and chocolate brownies. My family loves it when I'm off and can fix them a meal -- and I love doing it just for them! :flake:

The boys did a chinese dinner tonight with rice, honey beef, sweet and sour pork and some curried veges.

It was delicious but I think I ate too much

This is a great thread it gives me ideas on what to make for dinner.

I have to go grocery shopping in a few days and before I shop, I usually make a list of what meals we will have for dinner for the whole week and just shop for those meals. Plus we have a small white board that sticks to the fridge and when we run out of something it gets written on the board and added to the shopping list. Makes life easy.

Chicken curry for Kev, lasagna for me. Curry is one of those Brit obsessions I've never developed a taste for. :flake:

Tonight the youngest wants mac and cheese. I want something a little more. So I'm thinking maybe having take away. Just not sure what.

Jodie - I love saying take away instead of take out - I've been saying it for years now, ever since watching As Time Goes By (a British sitcom). :D

Home from work, I wanted to fix a good home cooked meal. Pork riblets, peas with carrot shavings, twice baked potatoes and coconut cream pie! :dinner:

Noel, what is a corn dog? I have never heard that before and it sounds interesting.

BTW tonight we had surprise bags (that is what my kids used to call sausages when they were little), some alfredo pasta with cauliflower, broccoli, carrots and snow peas.

That sounds delicious Mrs C.

We are having Chicken schnitzel, cauliflower mash and some veges again (I might make a gravy to go over the schnitzel).
