in no particular order

1- when i was a kid about 8 or 9 my parents pulled the old 'hide the big christmas gift' until everything is opened and you think it's all over...then gave me the old electric vibrating football game....i was so excited!!!

2 - my mom used to be very anal about christmas gifts....everyone had to have the same number of gifts and they all had to be with in 2 or 3 dollars in total value. so she would buy these crappie dollar store gifts just for people to ahve something to open...so one year she boat some CD from the dollar store...no one had ever heard of the group or any of their songs...so after opening it and we played it and it was 12 tracks of the same song...we all laughed and i'll always remember it

3 - for years my family would go back to the pittsburgh area for thanksgiving to visit family adn the friday night after thanksgiving is known as light up night in pittsburgh so we'd go ride the incline and walk around and look at the store's decorated windows.

4 - last year was a great year for my christmas with the wife and kids...jsut one of the christmas's i'll always remember

5- when i was younger we always had a train...but one year we went all out and made a huge papermache village with mountains and tunnells took multiple nights just to make the base of the village...i just recently found a picture of it and it really sparked a great memory!

gimmie 5 the five best(use your definition of best(value, personal sentiment, etc) gifts you've ever given someone...

1 - Oversized Bean Bag Chairs to nephews who moved here with nothing, and they carried them with, move after move (they are now in the army and siad that was the best present anyone had given them)

2 - My mothers Pearls, which I gave to a new Sis in Law, coming to the States for the first time. I wanted her to feel like a real part of the family. She later gave them to her neighbors child at a birthday party. During the party, the excessive twisting and playing broke the string and the pearls went flying everywhere. She was getting a broom to sweep them up and put in the trashbin, but I scooped them up, re-strung them and kept them...

3 - A heart shaped locket for a friend who lost her love.

4 - A felt doll set I made with 100 outfits for a neighbor adopting 2 little girls.

5 - A complete lets'-get-ready-for-baby kit for a new niece. Stroller, car seat, diapers, clothes, bottles, bassinette, tub, changing table, etc).

Gifts are fun to give - I'm asking the same gimme 5 question - how about you?

Those are truly important gifts!!!!!! Did you say a transplant?!

Christmas gifts I would save are equally as shallow as the ones I gave (above), but I don't have five, 'cuz my family really isn't into Christmas or gifts...

1 - an art set (it was a very thoughtful gift from a caring person who is gone) and I still have it (after 18 years) and treasure it and use it.

So, I pose the same question back to you...
