My church is beginning its focus on Operation Child this year -- we send the shoe boxes to Samaritan's purse in October. Its one of the most joyful experiences at Christmas to know a lonely child somewhere in this world is filled with joy to receive a gift at Christmas. For some, it is their first gift! :smilecc:

The program is run by a good friend of mine and we went to some of the meetings last year. Once a month they have big get togethers that offer dinner, playtime, and arts and crafts. Can't wait to see what crafts they come up with for Halloween and Christmas. :smilecc:

Sounds good to me CandyKane. So many schools now forbid red/green decorations or any mention of Christmas at school!

It is so hot!!!! I have been mowing my yard every evening trying to get it done and I finally finished mowing early this morning. It only took me 4 days. But if it doesn't rain soon I won't have to worry about it. Just finished the Sunday School lesson for tomorrow. Also have a craft ready. I'm saving up some money so I can do alot of my Christmas shopping at the kids bazaar. :smilecc:

Whoever said it was always cold in Sweden lied to me. Bring on the Christmas weather!

Christmas feels far away but the clock is ticking downward and soon I will feel pressed to complete my Grand Plan organization!

My brother just called asking if I'll have cookies shipped to him for Christmas! He is a pastor and Christmas is Saturday so he won't be with us this year. His birthday is the next week and we plan to get together then. So sugar-free cookies for us!

It's actually so hot here that we backed out of going to the waterpark. It's gotta cool off sometime....I just keep telling myself that. :| Been thinking about Christmas all day. :D

Byron and I went into Michael's yesterday and we were happy to see that they had a few Christmas things out. They had the Christmas ribbons out as well as an aisle with a bunch of Christmas crafts. :scene:

Hello all my Christmas buddies!! :smilecc:
Hope everyone is well and happy.
Haven't seen any Christmas items at the stores. I did spot a few Christmas items at the annual Trash and Treasures sale I went to yesterday though.
HOT and HUMID here this summer! I need to watch a Christmas flick to cool down a little I guess.

Monday morning......Where did my wonderful weekend go??? Super busy week ahead.

Yesterday we worked on planning for our Fall Festival and Christmas bazaar. We're also having a big church barbeque and have planned several trips for the kids. The next few months will be busy, busy, busy!

Our dollar store has put all their Halloween stuff out already. Other stores have a few things out. Looking for Christmas stuff to start popping up anytime. :santa:

Was a pretty good weekend - although along with everyone else - HOT!!!! The only downside was there's not much you can do in such weather. I did go on a date night with hubby - the ironic thing was that the theatre was super cold - was actually glad to get out in the heat - just wish it wasn't so humid.

My oldest suggested we get new Christmas ornaments this morning and to actually downsize our Christmas items. I told her to "bite her tongue" and that we didn't have nearly enough stuff - only the living room and dining room get really decorated so we need more decorations for the rest of the house. I don't think she believed me. :smilecc:
