Monday morning and business as usual. I have lots of errands to run and paperwork to catch up on. My project for today is to get our Operation Christmas child box wrapped and to search for a drop off point. If I don't find one I'm just going to mail it to the distribution center. :smilecc:

CandyKane check the Operation Christmas child website out. They should be able to show where a nearest drop off location is. On the Canadian site they give locations on a map. Good Luck!! :smilecc:

Thanks MM. I checked the site this morning because in the past our town has had a drop off location, but It has been discontinued. And since I really don't feel like driving 30 miles just to deliver one Operation Christmas Child box, I'll be mailing it. :santa: :elf:

My Mom just started on her Christmas Village. This morning I took her the Santa and baby Jesus figurine I bought her. She loved it so much. It's going in the Village this year. :nav2:

One of my friends put up her Christmas tree yesterday! Mine won't go up until Thanksgiving night. I still need to get my carpets cleaned and clean all the windows and drapes.

Spending the day by myself, the Mrs. had to take the little one to a Dr. appointment in Cincinnati which is a 3 hour drive from here(she won't let me go, because me and Dr.'s don't get along), so I am home getting things cleaned up and listening to Christmas music, maybe even take time to rest today. :smilecc:

I really need to decide what I'm going to get my hubby for Christmas. Right now I'm torn between trying to pick something out or just letting him pick out his own gift. He's got so much stuff and I really want to get him something he wants and will use. Even though it's not very Christmasy, he might be buying his own gift this year. :|

I'm taking dd to have her Christmas portraits made next week. I always buy the package that includes Christmas cards. I think I'll take some candid photos and make my own Christmas cards too.

Another one of my favorite Christmas tunes

SLEIGH RIDE
(Leroy Anderson / Mitchell Parish)

Recorded by : Leroy Anderson; Glen Campbell; Bing Crosby;
The Carpenters; The Partridge Family; The Ventures; and many others ...

Just hear those sleigh bells jingling,
ring ting tingling too
Come on, it's lovely weather
for a sleigh ride together with you
Outside the snow is falling
and friends are calling "yoo hoo",
Come on, it's lovely weather
for a sleigh ride together with you.

Giddy yap, giddy yap, giddy yap,
let's go, Let's look at the show,
We're riding in a wonderland of snow.
Giddy yap, giddy yap, gidd yap,
it's grand, Just holding your hand,
We're gliding along with a song
of a wintry fairy land

Our cheeks are nice and rosy
and comfy cozy are we
We're snuggled up together
like two birds of a feather would be
Let's take that road before us
and sing a chorus or two
Come on, it's lovely weather
for a sleigh ride together with you.

There's a birthday party
at the home of Farmer Gray
It'll be the perfect ending a of perfect day
We'll be singing the songs
we love to sing without a single stop
At the fireplace while we watch
the chestnuts pop. pop! pop! pop!

There's a happy feeling
nothing in the world can buy
When they pass around the coffee
and the pumpkin pie
It'll nearly be like a picture print
by Currier and Ives
These wonderful things are the things
we remember all through our lives!

Just hear those sleigh bells jingling,
ring ting tingling too
Come on, it's lovely weather
for a sleigh ride together with you
Outside the snow is falling
and friends are calling "yoo hoo",
Come on, it's lovely weather
for a sleigh ride together with you.

It's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you
It's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you

The famous Christmas song Winter Wonderland was first published in 1934. The composer was Felix Bernard (1897-1944) and the lyricist was Richard B. Smith (1901-1935). Probably the most popular versions of this classic Christmas song, Winter Wonderland, were recorded to high acclaim by the Andrews Sisters and Perry Como.
The lyrics of Winter Wonderland have undoubtedly contributed to the magical vision of snow at Christmas together with the tradition of building snowmen and therefore turning fantasy into reality by creating a real Winter Wonderland.

The lyrics to this classic Christmas song

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening,
In the lane, snow is glistening
A beautiful sight,
We're happy tonight.
Walking in a winter wonderland.

Gone away is the bluebird,
Here to stay is a new bird
He sings a love song,
As we go along,
Walking in a winter wonderland.

In the meadow we can build a snowman,
Then pretend that he is Parson Brown

He'll say: Are you married?
We'll say: No man,
But you can do the job
When you're in town.

Later on, we'll conspire,
As we dream by the fire
To face unafraid,
The plans that we've made,
Walking in a winter wonderland.

In the meadow we can build a snowman,
And pretend that he's a circus clown
We'll have lots of fun with mister snowman,
Until the other kids knock him down.

When it snows, ain't it thrilling,
Though your nose gets a chilling
We'll frolic and play, the Eskimo way,
Walking in a winter wonderland.

“Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmastime.”
