Does anyone else make eggnog for Easter or is that something I made up along the way? It seems a shame to only have it at Christmas. There is no commercial eggnog in Sweden so we have to make it from scratch anyway. We definitely make it for Christmas in July! :dinner: :bdline:

Interesting........actually I've never heard of anyone drinking eggnog at Easter?! BUT since I love eggnog it makes sense to me! A little Christmas cheer with Easter glory! :smilecc:

I did not make it up entirely, must have read about it on the web before. Here is a link to an ebay item that is from the 60´s, so some people at least have been drinking it for easter since then, or the advertisers would like you to think so. I also found pics of one brand of eggnog that was marketed for easter, it had a pink label with black and white cows with bunny ears. Would have caught my eye in the store. Eggnog in general is not that popular in San Antonio, I did not start making it until I got here. The last two easters here in Sweden, we will had snow, so if felt alot like christmas! This year it is warm and sunny. There is a recipe for a frozen egg/punsch (alcohol) toddy that sounds wonderful but is ALOT of work. I am thinking eggnog is just so much easier but still a nice ending to the whole day.

Glad Påsk! Happy Easter! :dinner: :snowwow:

A clip of Its the Easter Beagle Charlie Brown from YouTube. We watched it last night while testing a remote hard drive and a net book computer. My husband noticed the sign which said "only 246 days till Christmas" I had never noticed that before. There is another sign later for a Christmas sale.

Happy Christmas in April! Happy Easter, Glad Påsk!

Hope all my Christmas friends had a very Happy Easter. We enjoyed a great day. The children's program at church was wonderful. Afterwards we had an egg hunt. Dd got so many prizes it looked like Christmas morning with all the stuff scattered around. We had a thunderstorm and a tornado warning while we were still at church. We have had warnings everyday for the last week. We are having a thunderstorm right now. Hoping and praying that after today this crazy and dangerous weather will just go away. :holly1:

I had to call a small business the other day and they had to place me on hold. Their hold music was still Christmas music. It was a merry surprise. :carolbells:

After the holidays, it always takes Byron a little longer than me to get ready for Christmas again. A couple of days ago, he said, "Ok...I'm ready for Christmas...bring on the jolly!". Since we're living near a Hobby Lobby again, we only have to wait until July since that's when they start putting out their Christmas crafting supplies. :gbhouse:

Christmas Vacation is on Swedish tv this weekend! We have it on DVD so will probably watch it at a more convenient time.

Thanks Noel. You know I'm always on the lookout for a good bargain. :D Check out www.southernsavers.com. While alot of their deals are for grocery chain stores in the Southern US they do cover nationwide deals too like Groupons and sites offering great deals and freebies. That's where I found my free $20 credit and the American Girl doll sale. I can't wait to see what they offer as it gets closer to Christmas. :smilecc:

I had an awesome day at church today. The kids started making gifts for their Moms for Mother's Day. With Easter being so late this year, Mother's Day has really snuck up on me. I did order my Mom a canvas of one of my favorite pics of my dd. I know that she will love it. I also had some other pictures made into a card for her. She hasn't had any new pics since Christmas so I know she will be very happy. :smilecc:
