Our Operation Christmas Child collection box at church is really filling up. I set a goal for myself at the first of the year that I would donate at least 2 things for it every week. So far I have been able to do it. A lady brought in a whole bunch of shoe boxes today. We have been doing this on a small scale with the kids Sunday School class. I am so glad to see the whole church participating. :angelmerry:

I think we had snow! At least a few minutes of it. :snowwow:

It is always Christmas in Sweden! Check out Hallmark´s Season of Miracles for a cute Christmas in May movie. I will try to see if it is on Youtube later.

Woke up thinking about Christmas this morning. Must be all the cold, rainy weather we are having. :scene:

1) I noticed last year on my annual "christmas in july" websearch (which is how I found this group :D ) that many churches are having their Christmas charity empahsis in July now, before the Back to School expensis kick in and when everyone is not trying to provide for their own families in these tough economic times. I grew up with Christmas in July or maybe Christmas in August, I forget, as a GA event (yay for Southern Baptist!) so I thought it was a great idea.

2) I turned on the Swedish tv yesterday and caught the last 5 minutes of The Cosby Show where Cliff is explaining to Olivia how Santa changes faces when he comes down the chimney. It was great! I found the episode on YouTube, so I could watch all of it. Such a great show!

3) Lastly, do we have the ability to post pics to this site? I took a pic of a Christmas display in a window when we were in Riga, Latvia. A nice Christmas in April surprise.

Happy Mother's Day USA! Celebrate it like its Christmas! :shop: :snowwow:

Went to the store last Friday night with the car (people do not drive everyday in Stockholm, most take public transportation to and from work). My husband was playing Christmas music! We had stopped driving in December due to mechanical issues and just recently got the car back from the garage. What a nice surprise!

When I had a car in Texas, I always had some Christmas CD's in the car and at work for those really stressful days. :singing:

We're having a mini cold front -- today our temps are under 90F. That makes it like Christmas where I live - yay! :shop:

I found a Facebook page called Half Christmas! Celebratred on June 25. That is Midsummer in Sweden which is a big deal, but I might add some eggnog to this year's celebration. :scene: :gbhouse:

I am completely stressed out and in desperate need of some Christmas cheer. Just praying for the strength I need to get me through this week. :angelpray:
