Hope all of you had a lovely Memorial Day weekend -- it was a solemn day of remembrance filled with joy in their lives.

Christmas seems far away to me...........Christmas in July is only a couple of months away. YAY! :D

I've been trying to think of a good fundraiser we can do at church to celebrate Christmas in July and benefit our Operation Christmas Child boxes. I'm thinking a dinner and bake sale with a few Christmas crafts for sale. :shop:

Introducing my June avatar. My cell phone site lists this as a "midsummer pole" but the ones I have seen in Sweden are just one bar across with two sides going up to the top to form a sort of arrow (or phallic symbol which I choose to ignore). It then has two loops on each side of the bar.

In researching my husband's Thanksgiving in July request, I found that it is not so far fetched after all. There are many blogs and websites dedicated to the topic. Some families have it over thanksgiving as a more festive meal rather than the traditional hot dogs and hamburgers, especially if they have a service person home on furlow. I come from San Antonio where Christmas is often quite warm and it is not unusual to have cold ham and/or turkey with cold salads on the side. Same for easter. We now have turkey filets in the store, not cheap, but not horrible either. I am thinking of buying 6 and taking them with us. To me, thanksgiving is turkey, sweet potatoes, and cranberry sacue. Christmas is the same, just add ham. :dinner:

Does anyone else have "thanksgiving" other than in November? It was fun to research.

Happy almost Half-Christmas!

Before we get there it'll be over 110F here and I always get the Christmas blues. Once Christmas in July is here, I begin to look up because I only have 4 more months of hot weather to go.

I've been watching Extreme Couponing. Some of the people on this show are so interesting. Some are nothing more than hoarders, while others are struggling and saving with coupons to better there families lives. I like the ones who coupon for charity. That's keeping the Giving Spirit of Christmas all year long! :rabstar:

With temps in the upper 90s the last few days it is definetly Summer time here. I'll be wishing for Christmas snow before long! 8-) :flake:

17 days until Spring ends. I hate this warmer weather, severe lack of good and festive holidays besides July 4th. I hope time flows fast so we can all be saying Merry Christmas to each other soon. Also, for anyone interested, I've found a beautiful instrumental version of Carol of the Bells on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJWz1-R88oc
MERRY CHRISTMAS! :santadance: :merrysanta: :rudolph: :snowdeer: :merrygift: :rabstar: :happyny: :candle2: :candle1: :treegifts: :merrytree:

Thanks Father Christmas! Carol of the Bells is one of my fave Christmas carols!

I like the Celtic Woman and TransSIberian Orchestra versions most. I also love the opening of the Santa Claus version of Carol of the Bells.

Just a crisp cool Christmas breeze blowing across the 101F forecast for today! Ah,la beautiful frosty Christmas breeze makes my day! :snowwow:

Now all we need is some Christmas weather! :snowman1:

Hello everyone, a lot has been going on since last time I was able to get on here, started a new career, had my computer completely crash, and have had very little time to breathe let alone get on the computer, but wanted to take some time to get on here and see how everyone is doing esp. seeing we are getting to the halfway point of the year and that means we are getting closer and closer each day to Christmas. Hope everyone has been doing well and will be back on again soon. :smilecc:
