I am having a MUCH better Monday than I did last week. Got a very busy day (and week) ahead of me but I just wanted to stop by to wish all my Christmas buddies a very Happy Monday! :carolbells:

So excited! Only 202 days until the big night! Almost out of the "terrible two hundreds"! Hope you're all having a great day! Oh, by the way, "Merry Christmas" was trending on Twitter yesterday :) :merrytree:

In northern Arizona we're having a hugely devastating forest fire that is burning away the White Moutains. It's at our favorite camping site - just heartbreaking. 5 years ago another fire was not quite as big as this one but also destroyed homes and animals.

I need a little Christmas spirit and think I'll watch vids at You-Tube!

Wildfires are so scary and so devastating to everything. So sorry that your favorite camping spot is affected. Sending lots of good Christmas cheer your way Noel! :holly1:

With temps in the high 90's it's been a miserable few days. Headed to bed and hoping for Christmas dreams. :sleephat:

Got the word yesterday that my husband will be out of a job on June 23. We were hoping he would be renewed for another term at least. Due to changes in swedish law, we knew that teaching was just a temporary career, but were hoping they would give a bit more notice. The unemployment rate in our household is now 100 percent. Hoping for a Christmas miracle soon!

This morning I stopped by a plant nursery. It's the end of their season so they are clearing out all their plants. I got a great deal on some nice perennials. Waiting for the temps to cool off so I can go out and plant them. Christmas seems very far away when the temperature outside is almost 100 degrees F. :treegifts:

Thanks CandyKane. The fire is now as big as Phoenix............electrical wires to Texas are close to the burn line. Homes, animals are burned to the ground............prayerfully no firefighters have been injured so far.

I listened to Christmas Disney tunes on the way to work to uplift my heart. Thanks for those Christmas wishes! :gbhouse:

Thank you for the prayers. I now have an interview next Thursday, June 16, and my husband has a glimmer of hope of returning to a previous school. He will know more next week, meantime, we live one day at a time. We are having record heat, could do with some Christmas weather right about now.

Happy Half-Christmas!

I'm planning on making a stop by Hobby Lobby on my next Saturday off which is June 18th. Being a craft store, they're usually early with their Christmas items. They don't start putting things out until around the end of July, but you can sometimes see peeks of what is to come because you can see the items that are up next in baskets at the very top of the shelves. :shop:

That's great Noel! I know I really missed having a Hobby Lobby nearby when we lived in Ohio. So glad to have one nearby again because they always have great Christmas stuff.

Hello all! 195 days, it's coming real quick! I've had a rough past couple of days, but I have found comfort in listening to beautiful songs of Christmas (links to the songs below). I hope you're all doing well doing this dreadful heat. Christmas Day will make a fabulous return very soon. Let's be ready!

Actually I am having a better time with this than with anything I have ever done, I have also found out that I will have to be the Christmas person where I work seeing that no one else shares the spirit for the season like I do. :smilecc:

I had a dream last night that it was Christmas Eve and I just knew that I had forgotten something. What I had forgotten was to check in with my friends at Christmas All Year. Crazy dream huh? I guess my mind was telling me I was overdue for a post. :smilecc:

A while back Kodak Gallery was offering a promotion where if you make a purchase you could get a free Juno Baby dvd. I filled out the online redemtion form and my dvd was delivered yesterday. I looked and found out that this particular dvd retails for $18. This is gonna make a perfect Christmas gift for my 1 year old neice. :shop: :santa: :elf:

Okay, there is something that has been rattling my mind since last October when the Christmas stuff started coming out. Who likes this whole "politically correct" Christmas crap we have going on? You know, you have to say "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas". Now, I have no problem saying Happy Holidays if you are referring to Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's as a whole. But commercials seem to think that "Christmas" should be renamed simply "Holiday". You have "Holiday cookies", "Holiday trees" and so on. But what really bugs me is that these are "Christmas" traditions. Like, okay, if you are talking about a menorah, then call it Hanukkah, or if you celebrate Kwanzaa, then call it that. Shouldn't we be able to call our traditions Christmas? I don't see why we don't have the freedom that others have when it comes to the yuletide. It just makes me mad that department stores have the jingle bells to say that they don't want to offend anyone, but they are offending us. Whatever, I guess we should just not pay any attention and celebrate Christmas our merry way.
