Had a campfire tonight with the family in the back yard. Watched as my autistic son caught his first firefly. You would have thougth it was Christmas,,,and don't know who was happier, my son or me.

Oh what a joy! I remember my first firefly sighting..........and cherish it to this day! What a beautiful memory you have made with your special son! Now that's a gift like Christmas!

After the fireworks of July 4th, we have the joy of Christmas in July! Both QVC & HSN are having special days set aside for the event. Last year there were only a few Christmas in July old movies but this year I hope for more!

With so much going on right now, Christmas has definetly been pushed to the back burner. After the 4th, things will settle down a little and planning will be back on track.

I watched Miracle on 34th Street yesterday. Has anyone ever seen it?

I love Miracle on 34th Street! Which one did you watch? The original or the remake? I like them both but the original is my favorite.

I also checked the QVC website and they're going to be doing their Christmas in July on the weekend of July 23-24. I always watch but never order...I just like seeing the Christmas items and hearing a little Christmas music.

I saw the original version of Miracle on 34th Street. I like the remake too, and I intend to order it this season, but the original always has a place in my heart. And thanks for telling me when QVC will be doing their Christmas in July. I won't be ordering anything either, but it'll be nice to get a cute little taste of the holidays before November/December.

I watch QVC's Christmas in July celebration every year.........take a day off from work if approved [not this year]. It's fun........and I have ordered some items that turned out to be great decorations.

Its 115F here but feeling more like Christmas in July every day!

I have to check my settings. I have not had any updates in over a week!

We are celebrating Christmas in July with my husbands' sister in Nothern Sweden this year, and also Thanksgiving in July. We are telling her it is an American tradition. We found a small turkey breast after Easter (turkey is rare here and expensive) and will make that along with a large ham and sides for "Christmas". We will take music both swedish and american and maybe some movies. Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July is a must. I like Christmas in July with Dick Powell, but only have that on VHS. Other Christms in July favorites are Off Sesason with Hume Cronin (only have that recorded from tv), Santa Clause 1-3 with Tim Allen, and Call Me Claus with Whoopie Goldberg. Winter movies are also fun, Happy Feet, Surf's Up, and Snow Dogs. The ironic thing is it is entirely possible to have snow in July in Northern Sweden, now THAT would be sweet!

If it goes weel, we might make it a "tradition" to come up and put on Christmas in July for the northern family. Could be fun! We usually celebrate for one week, Sunday to Sunday encampassing the 25th with the "big celebration on Saturday. We exchange small gifts ($10-15) or less.

In my opinion, Edmund Gwenn is the best actor to ever put on the Santa suit on film. He is so charming and witty, he really makes me believe in everything he says and does.

I always wanted to take off from work for Christmas in July on QVC but it always fell during Bible School at the church I worked for. I am glad I can catch a bit online. :-)

Forgot to mention, we found pumpkin in the store today! I have to boil it and pure'e it then we will take it north to make authentic american pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving in July. Christmas in July will be mincemeat.
